Question about Jenn-Air JCD2295HES Side by Side Refrigerator

1 Answer

Fridge keeps freezing

My Jenn-Air refrigerator section keeps freezing. I've had a tech out twice, and they can't fix it. They replaced the Elec Motor Kit, worked for about 6 months, then broke again. This time the Water tank inside fridge froze and broke, so they want to replace it without fixing problem of freezing. I told them no since they couldn't tell me how to fix original problem. Do you think it's a thermostat?

Chances are, they replaced the wrong parts, or didn't replace all the parts, assuming they replaced an electric motor kit. I would need to know the P/N of the electric motor kit to confirm what was replaced.

Based on the fact that it froze the drinking water tank, and if they replaced the electric motor kit, the problem is more likely the temperature sensor or the control board.

Let me know what the P/N is of what they replaced and we can be more precise.

Jenn air refrigerator jcd2389ges freezes fridge

Bea, try this. UNPLUG the refrigerator for 12 hours and keep the fridge and freezer doors open. You might lose some food. NOW you will find some water under the fridge. clean that and now power up the fridge. Make sure you hear the motor working. Your fridge will start cooling. Keep at recommended temp.

Refrigerator side freezing

you could have a bad damper, this is located in the fridge section, all it is is a door that opens and closes to let cold air into fridge, sounds like yours is stuck open.remove the bottom kick panel and look for the tech sheet,it will tell you how to put it into diagnostics, the board will open and close,if it doesn't you know it's bad.go here and look at part number 13

Ice build up in freezer

Hi,
Most times this is a bad cold control, but there are other things to check for. Make sure the condenser fan is working and the coils are not covered with dust. A separated heat exchanger ( small capillary tubing soldered to the large suction line ) can separate from one another and make the fridge run too long. - tape tubing back together. A poor working evaporator fan motor could also make the fridge run too long and freeze - replace the fan motor. An inefficient compressor or refrigeration system could make the fridge run too long and freeze - have a service tech check this out. A misaligned control settings, make sure the air damper and cold control have not been bumped and are out of normal settings. Stuck open air diffusers or air dampers are becoming more and more common for allowing too much air to be blown into the fresh food section and freezing things. On all frost free fridge's the freezer temp air is blown into the fresh food section, if you have "easy" to freeze items ( eggs, veggies in water, etc ) in front of or under where the freezer temp air comes out, they could freeze - store them in a different spot. Doors not closing properly making the fridge run too long is something else to check for.

This will help to solve the problem....

I hope this will help in solving the fault.....

You can fix the problem yourself, all you have to do is to follow the procedure that is below,

A separated heat exchanger ( small capillary tubing soldered to the large suction line ) can separate from one another and make the fridge run too long. - tape tubing back together. Check the cold control, and also the air deflector. As you know, the deflector directs the freezer air toward the front of the frig and the rear of the cold control.

Hope this helpout....
