Dispenser does not work

Hello there:
Timer On many dishwashers, a plastic actuator arm mechanically links the timer to the detergent cup. When the timer reaches the proper time in the cycle, the timer activates a lever that opens the detergent cup. If the linkage is broken or defective, the cup stays closed after you've closed it. Check the link and repair or replace it, as necessary. Bi-metal switch or wax motor A bi-metal switch is a simple electrical device that deforms when electricity is applied to it. The degree of this deformation can be engineered to concise standards. The timer energizes the bi-metal switch inside your dishwasher door--directly behind the detergent cup--when the detergent cup should open. When energized, the bi-metal switch deforms away from the detergent cup latch, which opens the detergent cup. If the bi-metal switch is defective, it may not deform enough to open the cup. If that happens, you need to replace it. On some dishwashers, the bimetal switch is wired through the heating element or motor circuit. If the element is broken (or open), or if the motor is drawing low current because of a low-fill situation, the bi-metal switch doesn't open properly. Newer dishwasher models use a wax motor instead of a bi-metal switch. It's a sealed unit with wax that heats up and pushes a piston through to open the door. The wax motor, controlled by the timer, mechanically opens the door. Detergent cup, itself The detergent cup itself can become clogged with old dried detergent that prevents it from opening. Sometimes just cleaning the cup takes care of the problem. If not, you probably need to replace the entire cup assembly

Detergent dispenser problem

Is it new? Even if it was or wasn't, I strongly feel that you probably didn't set something properly. Read the manual it came with, particularly the troubleshooting section. Not a big problem. Let me know how it goes. :)

Detergent dispenser not closing

split the door inner from the outer - screws round the periphery. you will need a multimeter check if there is a supply to the detergent dispenser when there should not be ie during rinse and hold program or before starting the cycle. if there is a supply then the module is faulty. if not then fault probably lies with the dispenser itself. having split the door you can see how to remove. there are two methods of fixing. most common is six screws holding clamps. some are a push and click fit

Where do you put the dish wash detergent for my dish washer!

Hi, for most dishwashers the detergent cup is behind a little door in the door of the dishwasher.. snap open the door and place the detergent in the cup while the door is open and down, then close the little door and then close the dishwasher door...

then you are ready to roll...

Dishwasher soap lid is not latching. It's free of detergent.

We have the same problem, so I took the door of the dishwasher apart and cleaned it up, reassembled it, and it latched for about a week. Something is worn somewhere, and it's going to be a pain to figure out and replace, so we just bought some powdered dishwasher detergent, and fill the cup and close the door. The water spray will dissolve any that falls out when you close the door, and it does just fine, doesn't leave any residue or undissolved detergent on the dishes, at least with our dishwasher, hope you have the same luck.. If you choose to get it fixed, get an estimate first. Sometimes it's better to just replace, depending on the cost of repair. Hope this helps, good luck.

Our shu66c05uc Bosch dishwasher does not dispense the detergent.

Most likely the solenoid that operates the lever on the detergent door is faulty. Only solution is to replace the whole dispenser, unfortunately. It is possible that the controller is not activating the dispenser but less likely.

Detergent cap

Thanks for the model number. On your particular unit you can only latch the unit in the off position. If it still does not latch, open the door and remove all thr screws you see. Normal seven of them. Now, split the door and take a close look at the locking mechanism. Did something come loose? Is the spring in tact...Play with it and see how it works,...then what must be done to repair. It is really a simple system and has been tried and tested for many years in the GE Dishwashing Units. Good Luck, Eric Campion

Soap dispenser cover won't close

It sounds like it may be stuck between cycle steps.(this sometimes happens if the washer is open during a cycle)Try and run it through one full wash cycle as it is.Then check to see if the soap door will close. If not,the lack may be broken

The detergent dispenser sliding door will not stay closed

it is a very tiny plastic "tooth" that let open automatically the door when the washing program selected reach the opening point, the only good solution I suggest is to add the detergent after the first hot wash (just open the main door and drop it in!)...of course the best is to change this door locker with a new one...good luck!
