My computer just stop to producing sound from speakers even the welcoming window xp sound,

Hi,

The audio driver might have been corrupted. You just need to download the appropriate audio driver for your motherboard. Go to the Device Manager and install all missing drivers for "Unknown Devices". Either connect to the internet or use the driver disc which came with your motherboard.

For those who doesn't know how to access Device Manager, please follow the steps below.

For Windows XP:
Start -> Run -> Type devmgmt.msc (in the box) -> Right click Unknown device -> Properties -> Driver tab -> Update driver

For Windows Vista and Windows 7
Start -> Type devmgmt.msc (in the start search box) -> Right click Unknown device -> Properties -> Driver tab -> Update driver

Hope this helps.

Need drivers for external hard drive (wdbaaf00-10hbk-01)

Hard drives do not require drivers. If you are using Windows, the drive will not show up until it is formatted. You can access the Disk Management interface to format the drive by entering compmgmt.msc into the search bar in the Start menu in Vista/7, or in the Run dialog box in 2000/XP.

it it is working fine then check the services and turn on the plug and play

Unfortunately Windows XP Home edition does not have group policy editor and can not connect to a domain. You will need to upgrade to XP pro in order to have this functionality.

Won't recognize on windows XP(SP3)

try other usb port, or other computer and see whether the hdd is detected. If still not, try to go to device manager ( http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000833.htm ), and then assign a drive letter to the hdd. After that, try to access it from Computer, if not able to access it, format it (use quick format) and then use asoftech data recovery program to recover your files.

External hard drive in winows

My guess is that the pc is trying to use a drive letter that is already taken. Make sure the drive is plugged in. Goto Start -> run -> type compmgmt.msc and hit enter. Click on disk management. You should see the drive in the list. Right-click the external drive and click change driver letter. choose a letter that is not already taken. that should do it..
