Okay, I had this issue with my acomdata 500GB. today I decided to open up the drive to see if I could remove it and restore the data. after unscrewing all six screws (4 on the front and 2 small ones on the side, you'll need two different phillips, a large one and small one), I looked inside. first I registered the driver inside (it's a Western Digital) in case I needed to get it replaced. sure enough, it was still under warantee, even though the enclosure/driver kit is not (acomdata warantee runs out after a year for this model). but I noticed a slippage on the mangnetic copper film strip right above the USB port entry. it was slightly falling off the edge of the port. so I just fixed it, not thinking much of it, it just didn't "look" right. then I had a thought to plug it back in. driver now works again! I am about to recover my files and then test unplugging it to see if this repair "sticks".

Without knowing the brand looking up models mfg. dates is difficult.
did you check back or bottom for Mfg. date? Usually near the serial number. Sometimes the mfg. date is contained in the serial number. You may also try googling the manufacturers name and view their contact information.

Scotsman mfg date

Example: 04 first two digits is the year 06 second two digits is the month 1320 MPG site I.D 998877 so if your serial number was 04061320998877 then the machine was made ( June,2004 ) hope this helps.

Mfg date

Every Dell part has a label with a long serial number in the following format:
CC-PPPPPP-MMMM-DDD-SSSS

CC= 2 letters, country of origen (e,g, TH for Thailand, CN for China).
PPPPPP= 6 alphanumeric, Dell internal part number, most times starts with 0.
MMMMM= 5 numbers, Vendor ID.
DDD= Manufacturing date code
first digit= number, manufacturing year (e.g 8=2008, but on old stuff could be 1998)
second digit= alphanumeric, manufacturing month (1=January, 9=September, A=October, C=December)
Third digit= alphanumeric, manufacturing day of the month (1=1, 9=9, A=10, B=11,....and so on).
SSSS= 4 alphanumeric, serial number.

Not sure what date code you are looking at unless a "Plain Language Request" was made for that series in which case it would have been manufacturered 2020 - February (02) - 19th. Not a lot of these and I have never seen them on Dell but I guess anyting is possible

Looking for serial number in order to load Easycap. Lost evelope

Contact the MFG. they will have your info if you "bought" the hardware from them and registered it as the information in box asked you to. They will issue you a new key. I had to do this just over a week ago, I need the key for the same device. I had no problem getting a new serial from the MFG. :)

if your sure the device works, reassign some drive letters in computer administration to see if the drive is trying to use a drive letter being used by another drive.

Sounds like the drive has seized spindle... Not good news.
Is it buzzing similar to any of these noises: http://datacent.com/hard_drive_sounds.php ?
What you should do is remove the internal drive from the enclosure and connect it directly to the computer. If still buzzing then it's a real mechanical problem...

Acomdata external hard drive

Hi,

No ned to check in that.

The external hard drive can be fomatted by :

Open the my computer, in the my computer or explorer window you should see the drive letter for the external drive.

Right click on the drive you will get the popup menu.

In that select the format option.

But always use NTFS file formatting system.NTFS provides several advantages over FAT32, including support for larger ile sizes.

Use the full format option.

Wait for sometime, until the format is completed.

Then you are good to go.

Good Luck.

Hey Tafari, It's an overheating issue that is common in xbox 360 models made between a certain date range. I had the same problem a few months ago.

All you gotta do is contact Microsoft tech support and provide them with your serial number. They'll ask you a couple of questions and then they'll get you to ship them the 360. (They pay for shipping)

They'll try to repair it, but if your lucky like me, you might get a new xbox 360 with 1 month of xbox live for free.

Hope this helps. Worked for me, should work for you.
