Hello Mcelroy , I can help , your tray is overfilling and freezing the fingers/rake in ice so they can not turn the cubes out , this is caused by a leaking water inlet valve not shutting down on time or your ice maker module is calling for too much water on a harvest.
The best way to repair this issue would be to replace both the ice maker and the inlet valve which is located in the lower rear where your water line ties in.
All you have to do is order the ice maker kit for your model and it will include both parts you need the ice maker and the valve. These two items complete the entire ice making process so you should not have any other problems with your ice maker for a long time depending on water quality and wear and tear. If you have any other questions please let me know and tell me how it turns out if you have the chance. Good luck. Phil

I have a whirlpool model ED25PWXBN00 refrig and the ice maker is making ice but the part that holds and dispenses the ice has broken and no longer dispenses ice. what part do i need?

That depends if the ice maker continues to fill with water or just sits there with the ice slots empty. Sometimes it is the dual water control valve=> 4318046 Water Control Valve
and sometimes the ice maker itself. Does not hurt to have an extra part of each if you are a ice user like myself. If ice slots are empty fill with tap water and allow to freeze. If the ice drops and slots do not refill with water then replace the dual water control valve. 4317943 Ice Maker Assembly.

Ice maker is not working

The water tube to the icemaker inside the refrig maybe frozen up. Thaw out with your hair dryer. To make sure the tube is clear. Shut of the water to the refrig, disconnect the inlet water line to the icemaker. Insert a flexable through the connector fitting, I used a zip tie. The flexable item should go all the way to the icemaker

Solution #2 Replace the "water inlet valve" at bottom back right of refrig. Easy To Do.

Ice maker won't work

Most ice makers have some sort of on/off lever to shut off when full, check this for any left over packing material or tape that could holding it making it thing it is full instead of filling to make ice.

You might have a frozen line. Also and this seems more important to you its prob to cold, Trust me to cold of a refrig will cause hollow ice cubes first leading to a frozen line. Clean your coils, if you have another refrig empty out into that, unplug it leave doors open a couple days. If you can get to water line use a hair dryer from a distance defrost line, turn down freezer half knotch 1 full one at maximum. should fix issues, especially if filter already changed. If this all check prob a clogged line, not just frozen.
