Quiet Partner II will not start

Normal cycle green light continually blinks and the washer will not start.

    The normal cycle and cancel/drain lights continually blink and the dishwasher will not start. We shut off the breaker/power to the unit for over an hour and then turned the breaker/power back on. This did not help the situation.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, possibilities are:

  1. door latch defective (unlikely);
  2. door lock sensor/switch (likely);
  3. open heater element (a possibility);
  4. faulty thermal cut-off (a possibility);
  5. systems glitch, perform a reset:
  • press heated dry, normal, heated dry, normal and then cancel;
  • wait until 2 minute cycle is done;
  • open and close the door and make sure it is closed.
Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy New Year.

Hi,

If your dishwasher doesn't work at all, check these:

Power from the house Isthere power getting to the dishwasher? This can be difficult to test,because dishwashers are usually wired directly to an electricalcircuit, rather than plugged into the wall. But at least check for ablown fuse or a tripped circuit breaker.

Door switch Thedoor switch is important because, if it's defective, the dishwasherwon't work at all. To reach it, you need to remove the control panelcover, or sometimes the interior liner of the door. If it's defective,you need to completely replace it.

Wiring Oftenthe main wiring connection from the house, at the dishwasher, burns andbreaks the connection. If that's the problem, the wires must berepaired/replaced as necessary. If that's not the problem, check thewiring to the door switch, the wiring between the door and the lowerpart of the dishwasher, and the wiring to the timer. Repair any broken,burned, brittle, or defective wiring, using the proper appliance-gradewire and connectors.

Timer or selector switch Althoughit's uncommon, the timer or the selector switch may be defective. Ifso, you need to replace the defective part, because neither of thesecan be repaired.

Press:

heated dry

normal

heated dry

normal

then cancel..... wait until 2 minute cycle is done. open and close the door and make sure it is closed.

Then run another cycle. saw this on another post and it worked for me. They said that if it did not reset then either the latch has a bad connection or the heater for the water is bad.. it must register that the door is closed in order to actually start the heater for the water. I hope this helps you as well as it helped me.

If pushing and holding the lock button till the light goes out doesn't work, you likely have a problem on the circuit board.

The timing circuit may be defective and the circuit board needs replacing. Have an authorized serviceman do a continuity test on the board and have it rest to factory specs.

I have a Whirlpool Quiet Partner II dishwasher and it is stuck in the clean mode the light continuous blinks

THat means that something is wrong with the water temp. It is either not hot enough when it fills or the heating element that increases the temp it bad. To start the Service Diagnostics Cycle, press the
following keys, in order, in less than 6 seconds, while in standby(power on but unit off):
Heated Dry, Normal, Heated Dry, Normal
To Rapid advance one interval at a time, press the Start key, noting that
unlike Standard cycles, the Diagnostics Cycle automatically resumes
after door openings and does not require pressing Start to resume.

Once the diagnostic cycle has run and shut off, run a normal wash cycle, empty and with no detergent, to reset the control to factory "normal" operation. Make sure there's plenty of hot water.
