I bought this camera used, so it has no manual and I can't find one online. Every time I put in a 4gb SD card the camera states that it is unable to use card. I formatted it with my computer and it still states this. Do I need a different kind of card? Is there some way to get the camera to format it? Thanks.
The X1 works with MMC and SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it fits into the slot, it is electronically incompatible. You need to use an SD card, 2GB and smaller.
You may download a copy of the manual from here.

hi there
you don't say how big the card is, my guess is its bigger than 2 gig which is the maximum allowable size for that camera.
hope this helps

What size card is it? You should go to Konica Minolta USA Web-Site and look up your camera under discontinued products to see what the largest card your camera can handle as you may have a card that is to large for your camera format ....
Do a BACKUP (Camera's internal memory & Memory card) and then format both of them and see whether the problem still persists. I think your camera's build in memory is full. Most of the camera's internal memory is not too big and you get these kind if massages. If you are not using an additional memory card (e.g. SD Card), I would advise you to use one.
Good Luck!
