You will have to get the security code from your friend. I hope your friend has it (or the paperwork that came with the unit). If not you are pretty much out of luck (unless you want to try and guess the security code by trial and error).
Double check that the wires are connected properly. Also verify that all of the leads are operating as they should with a multimeter. If you used a harness adapter verify both before and after the adapter.
There is a great site for this type of wiring that you are looking for. I tried to attach the file here, but it will not let me. What you need to do is go to http://www.bulldogsecurity.com/, and look towrd the top left for a Wiring Diagrams option, then scroll down to Nissan and look for Maxima. It may not have all you are looking for, however, since it is a car alarm site.
Are you positive that the yellow (memory wire) from the Panasonic (use a test lamp or meter) is continuing to get power after you turn off the truck and wait 5 minutes? And the Black ground is proper ... If so then it will likely cost more to repair the deck than replace it. Or you could wire the red wire to the same place the yellow wire is wired to ... then just remember to shut it off when you leave the car (or suffer a dead battery 12 hours later) ... and it won't cost more that the cost of a couple crimp connectors to do that ... the frugal way.
yes.......... just buy a mounting kit for your car and a wire harness for your car.........to install just unplug factory radio and clip the harness on to factory plugs that you just unhooked from factory radio now just attach the same colour to colour wires from your new deck to the harness......mounting kit comes with instructions
(make sure to buy WIRE HARNESS & MOUNTING KIT for your car) and your install should take less than a hr to do
Hey I cant help you with your problem but can you help me? i have a 95 ford probe with a metal ended square harness on it, i went to canadian tire 100 times looking for the right harness and none fit it. a couple months later I had found another harness connector a few inches don't from the other square one.Now before i found that one i cut the harness and tried manually connecting them to the new radio. The radio would turn on but now sound would play.... and i tired 9 colour codes still nothing. if you have any idea about my problem it would be much appreciated thanks.
