When you open the front cover to access the drum unit, does your cover open and close as normal, without obstruction or snags?

Are you able to access the jammed paper from the rear access cover at the fuser unit?

There are possibly 2 reasons why this is happening.
1. The drum unit may have been damaged in some way but I doubt it. Check fully that all contacts are in the right place at either side of the drum unit. A contact may be slightly bent.
2. Check the Transfer Roller is in its correct position. The transfer roller is the felt type roller that is positioned in the printer under where the drum unit goes. If this has got out of position then that could also cause the faint printing. Check contacts in printer are not bent.

My fax machine keeps saying there is a paper jam.

look on the bottom of your drum unit. there is a sensor opening that might have a tiny piece of paper in it, not allowing the sensor flag to reset. if thats not it, closely inspect behind rear door.

Brother printer problem- "noise" on printed paper

when you open the front door to replace your toner. The part that you put your toner in is the drum unit. pull that out. Remove the toner cart. blow the unit out.
( DO THIS OUT SIDE, TONER WILL BLOW OUT OF THE DRUM UNIT )
On the top of the drum unit there is a blue or green slide lever move the lever back & fourth 15-20 times.
re blow out the machine with drum unit out.
Reinstall the drum,
make 5 copies ( 1st feow will be bad hope thay will get better )
If not need to determan if the drum is bad or the fuser asm is cuasing the problum.
( part that melts the toner on to the paper )
Need to do a 1/2 print test.
1. make a copie or do a report
2. when the paper is 1/2 way thrugh the machine but not in to the fuser open front cover.
( may need to tray a coupel of times to do ot right )
3 look at the paper see if marks are on the paper.
( If not then the fuser is bad. if the marks are there the drum is bad )

Hope this help's

Brother mfc8220 jam problem

We looked everywhere for a piece of paper stuck in the machine and couldn't find it. We finally fixed the problem by moving the paper size adjuster in the paper try until it was right up against the paper. If the paper is free to move around in the tray, apparently the machine sees that as a paper jam.
