Hello. i am trying to get my lexmark x1185 printer to print, after replacing both cartridges/

Could have a corrupt driver.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and when the CD software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.

Hello,

The entire top of your printer lifts up. (Scanner unit.)

Refer to this setup guide:

Lexmark X1100 Series Setup Guide

See steps 6 through 9.

Once the lid is lifted, there are locking tabs on each cartridge. Squeeze and lift up. You can then lift up and out on the cartridges. Reverse the procedure to install the new cartridges.

NOTE: Make sure the printer is ON during cartridge removal and replacement.

I just put new ink Cartridges but still wont print


Hello,

Most of the time the "problem communicating with the printer" message pops up on Lexmark X1185 series when the driver gets corrupted. The best fix for this issue would be to uninstall the software first. Try connecting the USB to a different USB port (Please avoid using USB hubs, if any) and then reinstall the software. This should normally fix the printer communication issues!

New print cartridge not printing


-detached the cartridge
-wipe the cartrdge well
-attached it back(make sure you put it in its proper way the black and color cartrged)
-unplug the switch and cable of the printer
-try print

If the ink cartridge is not empty it is probably clogged. The Print nozzles are very sensitive and cleaning attempts can make the situation even worse if carried out wrong. You can try cleaning with dry gas alcohol as it contains no water. Use a piece of leather sham or other non lint material like eyeglass lens cleaner wipes and the dry gas. Wet your cloth and gently hold it on the print nozzles allowing the alcohol to dissolve the dried ink in the nozzles. Do not rub hard or you will ruin the print head. Hold it in place for at least 2 minutes with a generous amount of alcohol in the cloth. Imm
ediately place the cartridge in the printer and perfom the clean nozzle function.
If this does not remedy your problem the print cartridge must be replaced. Hope this helps you out.

My lexmark X1185 all in one printer will not print color.


did you make sure that you pulled all of the tape off the bottom of the cartridge. next recheck your settings. they will not return to normal themselfs

Lexmark x1185 cartridge error msg


Step 1). Try cleaning the gold contacts on the print cartridge and on the printer itself with a pen eraser and a little alcohol.

Step 2). Uninstall the printer software and reinstall it.

Step 3). If the above two steps fail try a new cartridge. If none of these solutions work there is an electronic problem with the printer and it will have to be professionally diagnosed or replaced.

Lexmark All in one printer


looks like you may need to replace the black cartridge.
usually when you open the cover of your printer, cartridge carrier will move to the center. that's where the cartridges are, you can open it buy pushing it down and release it.

x1185 and x1100 are most likely the same.

Lexmark X1185 does not print in colors


Please do not cartridge positions this may damage ur printer ,check if the cartridge has ink in it..



Windows 20001.gif / XP:

Go to Start, Settings, Printers1.gif. (Windows XP: Start, Control Panel, Printers and Faxes).
Right click on the printer icon and select Properties.
Click Printing Preferences.
Click on the Quality/Copies tab.
un check mark Print Color images1.gif in black and white.
Click Apply and then OK.

This start ur printer to printer to print in colour

Lexmark X1185 printer will not print color......everything else works fine


the ink is clogged not the cartridge but were the ink feeds into the printer. there should be a cleaner tab in the printer preference tab if available

Maybe the cartridges are dry. Try running a test page after running the maintenance nozzle cleaning.
