Not regonising battery

HEllo, When I have the battery in my laptop "3110CT" the orange charging light comes on and it charges the battery, But shortly afterward it will go out and stop charging. In windows power meter, it starts of saying that it's charging annd then says it has no battery installed. The connections are clean, I only have one battery to test with and it is only 9 months old. This computer is used for tuning of cars.

Re: Not regonising battery

The fault is probably the motherboard not accepting the battery as being connected. If it's still under guarantee i would inform the retailer, as if you mess with anything and accidently do other damage, as you will know with car parts, the warranty is void.

The orange light shows the battery is charging. It will turn green when the battery is fully charged. The white light shows there is power entering the computer.
The usual problem with a computer when there is no response to pressing the power button is that the motherboard has failed requiring the replacement of the motherboard.
If the computer is still under warranty there should be a free motherboard replacement, if not, and you are able to do the replacement, you can find motherboards for sale on various websites. Be aware that motherboard replacement for laptops can be expensive if done by computer repair shops.

Ifthe laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be wornout. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cyclesand will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up atall. ORThe battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected thebattery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. Ifthe battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to bereplaced.

I would check to make sure the AC adaptor connection on the motherboard was not damaged when you opened the pc. ( I have done that a few times.) I'm uncertain of what you have done to solve the problem. Since you have the new battery, again try to charge the battery. when it show the charge is complete, let the pc run until it goes off, when it does, keep powering your pc on until it will no longer power on. (You want to make sure the battery is completely drainned.) Once complete, try plugging the AC to your pc and monitor the charge. You may need to let the pc charge for at least 2 hours before powering the pc on.

Good Luck

Battery will not charge on a dell d610 when plugged into outlet

I have seen this with faulty batteries.
Try changing the battery.
Also, check in the BIOS that the adapter you are using is recognised and shows a state of charging with the battery in.

Satellite A200 Not Charging battery

You're gonna have to replace the motherboard.

Check to see if it's under warranty through your motherboard manufacturer's website.

Most of them are covered for 3 years.

Best of luck!

You need to unplug the cmos battery, wait a few minutes, the plug it back in.
This battery in inside the laptop and is a small green cell plugged into the main board itself.
Do not have the main battery or ac hooked to it if you do this, or it will not reset.
