Fitting a door to Kenwood dishwasher KDW243A

Hi,
My daughter has a Kenwood dishwasher KDW243A and the door has just fallen off. The door has 2 pillars on the top which obviously fit into the slides, and towards the bottom has 2 plates with the centre pushed out to form a hook. I also notice there is provision for 4 screws to help secure the door.
I have inserted the pillars into the slides, lined up the plates to where they have been originally fitted, and held the door in the correct position, but when I release pressure the door drops about 15mm. Does this mean the plates require raising by 15mm, and is there a template for this appliance as I am presuming the door should fit tightly before fixing the 4 screws.
Many thanks
Steve

Hello, Found this while looking for the answer myself. The vanity door fell off last night onto my foot and so needs must as it really hurt!

Anyway there are 2 top pillars that fit into the upper appliance door. Then there are two plates that need to set to finished height.

To fit. First insert the top pillars into the large openings. Now open the dishwasher door a bit, took two of us to get this right, and push the vanity door as high up as you can. Next slide the door back down and gently push the bottom plates into the recesses on the appliance door.

Job done! Well almost. When you have got this far open the dishwasher door completely. You will see a plastic white cover caps on either side of the door. Remove these and drop a screw into the hole.. Make sure you measure the screw against the vanity door so that the screw does not go all the way through!! Now screw the appliance door to the vanity door.. Now the job is now complete!

Hope this helps!

Hi there program lights come on and then go straight off and won't give me the option to select any program can you help?

The door latch is not catching and pulling the door closed all the way. It may be loose or broken. This means that you need to remove the cover panel on the top of the door and the catch mechanism to get them aligned correctly

My Kenwood KDW243A built in dishwasher is desplaying what I assume is an error code, E3. What does this mean? The washer is not washing properly.

E3 means the base is full of water. A quick fix is to tilt the machine back for 10 mins or so but you need to find the cause of the leak and repair it

Hi my kenwood dishwasher kdw243a is not releasing the tablet door and not getting hot ?

It sounds as though the heater has failed. I would expect an error code such as e3 to be displayed. It should be possible to test the heater element with a multimeter set on ohms.

Moved into new house need set of instructions

Try this. I'm not sure if it applies to your model.

The reset sequence used is:
1) Crack the door open.
2) Within 3 seconds press the following sequence - Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry, Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry
3) Close and latch the door
4) Press the cancel button (the circle with the triangle in it)

The dishwasher still has water in it.  Lean dishwasher back at least 45 degrees and water should drain out through overflow pipe.  It could be caused by the dishwasher not being level.  Otherwise from reading reviews online it seems to be a common fault with this dishwasher and lots of people have returned and purchased different.
