The "f" key broke.when we press the key the type bar will not go up and make the letter
Take a paper clip and bend a 90 degree bend at the end. See if you can pull the f key back up, then depress the f key and see if the letter comes up. If you pull the key up, and push it back down, sometimes this will cure sluggish (gummy) keys.
It is possible that the spring under the key is broken, but look for staples, paper clips, etc under the key.
If you take 2 paper clips bent at 90 degrees at the tip, you should be able to CAREFULLY remove the f key top (one paper clip at each side wiggling it up side to side) and be able to see under the key.
Also, try this: Take contact cleaner (NOT WD40! It will kill electronic circuits!) and spray the key. If it is gummy, (sluggish) you should be able to restore free motion.
If the spring is broken, take apart a ball point pen, remove the spring, and put it around the shaft of the key, put the key back and, and hopefully it will push the key back up.
But try the spray contact cleaner first. You can get some from Radio Shack (or at least you used to be able to...)
