How to Fix Spilt Liquid on bda25ce.jpg?
You accidentally knocked fruit drink or a late night glass of milk on your laptop or your child spilled a good portion of milk directly into your keyboard. You hear a popping noise, the screen goes black. Water by itself is not as bad as milk or juice, both of which are corrosive/acidic, or coffee, tea, soda, etc.
First and most important -Calm Down and unplug the computer from its power source.
Disconnect it from the power cord and remove the battery. If needs, please remove the keyboard. The old adage - Water and Electricity don't mix - is quite true. For your laptop spilled water, let your laptop dry. Do not attempt to turn on the computer for at least 72 hours. Let it sit in a cool, dry place. If you disassembled the laptop, reassemble it after 72 hours have passed.

As for cleaning a laptop computer keybord, I would use a can for compressed air, q-tips, and soapy water. I would be careful about getting the laptop too wet as water can seep into the computer. Hope this helps!!

Drink split on keys, now has fading to white screen. big problem.

Well if the motherboard is replaced, it is probably a problem with the laptop monitor. If this is the case, at this point, it's probably cheaper to buy a new laptop.

I want to buy A labtop. Which one is best?

I was a loyal Dell customer, and certified tech from 1997-2007 and still attest to the hardware integrity but their outsourced customer support frustrated me one too many times. I switched to Fujitsu because they also have great hardware quality, great value and the laptop came with a full set of CDs, not just a reinstall partition on the hard drive. I also have an IBM (Lenovo) Thinkpad that is solid but the first spilt drink on the keyboard killed it -same with an HP Pavilion laptop I was given to me after a single drink spill -this Fujitsu has a spill-resistant keyboard. The Panasonic Toughbook is just that -tough, but expensive. Don't look at reviews and ads for research -look at help forums like this for customer support issues and the cds that come bundled with the laptop like an operating system cd:) Steve Medley

Distorted sound - drink spilt

ok..that's helpful..the sound card, so to speak, is embedded on motherboard on these units, so you'll need to replace that entirely(not simple, but not out of the realm of possibility).

The bastard laptop won't turn on!

  •  It could be beneficial to unplug the laptop & remove the battery. Let the system sit & dry for a couple days. More than likely you will have to replace the keyboard. Could be more damage that you do not see. If it is a sugary drink like soda, it enjoys tearing up soldered connections. Best guess wouuld be let it dry out. If it doesnt work & replacing the keyboard doesnt fix it, take it in to a service center.
