Unable to transfer film from my new Panasonic HDC - SD9

As above, and my computer has a Vita programme.
I have installed the HD 2.5 writer tha came with the camera.

The actual connection is okay, but my screen gives me two options - only the Folder one works but what do I do next please? The Panasonic manual is useless.

many thanks

Picasa can read and play AVCHD! It's free from Google. Simply connect your sd card and import. To edit it I've used Adobe Premiere Elements 7 but the image outputs as mpeg which degrades it slightly. Another option is to try the latest Roxio or Nero which will all play and decode AVCHD files. The soflware from Panasonic is rubbish!
Good luck and ask if you've any more questions......

I have had my Panasonic HDC-HS20 for a while now and finally filled the hard drive. I have only recently transferred all the footage onto my PC. When i play the videos back the image is good for stills but...

On the PC, if You Tube plays good HD videos then the problem is either the format that the camera is putting out or the Codecs in the computer. See if Panasonic have computer software to put on the computer. It is usually on the disc that came with the camera, or available online.

found this.Looks like it needs converting.

I can not download form HDC-SD20 use by HD writer

I have same problem. I have Panasonic HDC-TM20 video camera. It came with HDWriter ae 1.0 software. I have ACER alptop, running XP. Everything was running fine for months, but now I cannot transfer from the video camera to the hard disk on my computer. It attempts to do it, but then it just does nothing for ages. CPU usage shoots up high. When I kill the application, it does die, but process continues so I need to re-boot mt laptop before I can load it again. Is these any one out there who has resolved this issue?

I believe this program only works with Service Pack 2,

Start

Problems using HD Writer 2.5E with Vista

I spoke to a technician at Panasonic. He said the problem is the 64bit Vista. It may run with the 32bit version, if gives trouble there is a patch update under Global Support/consumerproducts (digital AV window updates) at Panasonic web page. It will work with new Windows 7.
