  1. Choose a laptop or WiFi device that is currently connected to your network. If none of your devices are connected, use an Ethernet cable and connect a computer or laptop directly to your wireless gateway.
  2. Open a web browser and go to the Admin Tool (http://10.0.0.1) - this is the wireless gateway's administration site. The default settings are:
    • Username: admin
    • Password: password (case-sensitive)

Kan I download an installation cd for belkin wireless router?

Hi Mihaly,
As a rule, you do not 'instal' a router and therefor do not ned a CD. All you need to do is connect it to a computer and use your web-browser to access the internals of the router in order to set it up for your broadband and to set the wifi etc.Check that router's IP address - it is sometimes on the bottom of the unit (along with the log-in name and password). If it is not there then check your network settings - that wil show you the router's IP address. it is generally one of these three - 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.254.Sometimes it will be different but those are the common addresses. For log-in and password, try admin and admin or admin and password (you never know). That's all you need (apart from your broadband user name and password - note - these are NOT the same as the router's log-in and password).

I have forgotten my password and need to connect a new computer to my router-the router is a belking plus mimo and I have a linksys wireless g speed booster -what do I do to fix this? Many thanks

Reset the both routers in order to go to the factory default setting.
BELKIN (192.168.2.1) normally has no user name or password. So just hit enter.
Linksys (192.168.1.1)
User Name: admin
Pass Word: admin

You can always change the user name and password

Good Luck!

Connect your modem to internet port of the router and your computer to any numbered slot. Now open 192.168.1.1 in your internet explorer,it will ask for username and password.Leave the username blank and in password type admin. You will get the linksys page.On the setup page you can see internet connection type.select PPPoE from the drop down menu.In username and password enter the username and password which you use in dialing broadband.Scroll down and click on save settings.Turn off the router and modem.Power up your modem first and then router. Now you wont need to dial broadband. You will be connected automatically.

Not able to connect to internet

1. try to check the status of the connection:
make sure it is connected and the status does not say either of the ff:
a. local only
b. limited or no connectivity
c. limited access only

2. try to change the network name [ssid] and the network key [wep or wpa passphrase]
you can change this by accessing the ipaddress of the router or its user interface

3.try to reconnect to the new network name
and make sure the status says connected.

this is not a browser issue . it is with the connection set up.

Wireless Connection

You didn't specify if you're using DSL or Cable internet.

With DSL, keep in mind the software on the PC is what "dials out" to the ISP with your name / password, and you MUST set the name and password in the router. Otherwise, ONLY the computer1.gif that has the software installed (verizon1.gif, etc) will be able to connect.

If you're using a cable connection, you don't have to do this, however, most newer Linksys routers come with a 'setup' disk, which MUST be used regardless of connection type.
