Your camera has a capstan servo problem which is more than likely being caused by the capstan motor itself.Nothing you can do youself, would suggest bring to service but reccomend getting estimate before repairing.

Help!! No playback!!

First try a cleaning tape, if that doesnt work it most likely the tape path is out of alignment and you will have to send it in for repair.

Camera Will Not Play Back Video!!

normally you receive a head cleaning tape with the unit or you should purchase one and let it run untill it stops playing. i suggest you run it 2-3 times if this does not solve the problem then you may need a head chage. the change will have to be done by a qualified technician.

Cannot play tape.

Sometimes that happens to me too. What I do is just push play, then fast forward, and normally if you watch it, the picture starts to come back. Just keep fast forwarding until you can see all of the picture, and you should be fine.

Incompatible Tape

try a cleaning tape first - best not to rewind the cleaning tape because it will put back the crud previously removed ? into your heads and guides ( last tape to play is prime suspect ) ; - - digital heads wear faster than analog so a new set of heads is next possibility but if the cleaning tape works . . . retire your library soon as possible .

How to Record From a TV Using PV-GS13?

connect a lead via your tv video out audio out jacks. Select tha appropriate channel (You may have to go through the av channel on you tv and tune in the channel you want to record) or, video or dvd player audio out video out jacks. connect other end to your camcorder. Select on the camcorder menu video in audio in. Turn on tv. If connected to video or dvd player, press play. Press record on your camera. When finished recording press stop. Presuming the camcorder is tape, you can buy a tape adaptor to play or record your mini tapes in a standard video recorder, then take them out of the adaptor and play them back on your camcorder. You can also do all this via a computer. Also if the camcorder is disk or hard drive it can be used the same way as a regular dvd recorder to record tv programmes once connected to you t.v. Let me know how you go 26 red

You have one of two problems my freind. One could be the CCD sensor or related circuits have a problem in it and most likly a bad capacitor or a CCD imager, or the shutter is bad and sticking. Unfortanatly you really cannot tell untill the unit is taken apart and bench yested. I found a few really reliable folks that will give you a free estamate as I have sent a few peeps to them in the past and with great results. Good Luck Or
