Re: Printer will not connect to new tower HP
I am guessing here but what commonly happens is that you are attemptign to install with software that is for a different version of windows that the one that you have. GO to the Lexmark website that I have provided and download the software and drivers for the version of windows that you have and itstall that. If you astil have problema let me know and we can assiste you farther.

If it's driving you crazy and it's a Lexmark, yes, get another printer. This problem is not worth the headache and money to fix. It makes me crazy, too, when someone brings in a cheap printer for me to fix and have to turn around and tell them it's garbage because the problem involves proprietary test equipment from the manufacturer.
Hmm...Likely a driver issue. Try downloading a new driver (more up-to-date. Remove the old driver first (Need help? Look on the net for 'Removing Printer drivers') I suggest unplugging the printer before installing the new driver as well. Here is the driver site: http://support.lexmark.com/index?page=answers&startover=y&locale=en&userlocale=EN_US&productCode=&segment=DOWNLOAD&question=driver+for+lexmark+510+printer (Hint: Copy the whole link to notepad, make it all one long sentence, copy again and past into your browser) Lexmark uses a dedicated 'Print spooler' that may be having issues. Ask a techy friend for help with this.
Here's a link where you can find information regarding Windows 7 support for your printer: http://support.lexmark.com/index?page=content&userlocale=EN_US&id=HOT18&locale=en&productCode=LEXMARK_X1150&segment=DOWNLOAD&actp=HOTTIPS
Not sure whether the Windows Vista drivers will work on Windows 7 or not, but anyway, here's a link where you can download indows Vista drivers: http://support.lexmark.com/index?page=content&productCode=LEXMARK_X1150&actp=PRODUCT&id=DR116&segment=DOWNLOAD&userlocale=EN_US&locale=en
Is the Lexmark CD a CD or DVD? If it is a DVD format, and many are today, you will need a DVD drive to read the data.
Is the CD drive working otherwise ? To check, put in a music CD and see if it plays. If it doesn't the CD Drive is likely defective, or not properly connected. In that case, you can download the drivers from Lexmark via the internet.
click the link directly to download the driver.also the lights blink because the cartridges are faulty.this can be possible so remove the cartridges clean it with tissue paper manually and recheck before installing the driver to confirm the fault.
