Question about Kenmore 3.5 cu. ft. Front Load Electric Washer

1 Answer

Computer brain seems unresponsive

The lights are on so it has power- I don't see why there would suddenly be a water supply problem. When we push ANY button it beeps and lights flash then it goes back to most of the lights being on. the machine is only a little over 2 years old(3 months past warrenty) and has never displayed any problems until now. *note* this problem just started the day after our hotwater heater ~broke~ and we had small flooding in the area(barely touching the bottom of the machine) of the washer. the washer is plugged into an outlit with the hotwater heater and there for the breaker to it was shut down while we changed the hot water tank. We have tried plugging it into a differant outlet that has proper power and theres still no change in its behavior. Any suggestions-?- definantly can't afford a repair man.

I have Samsung front loader washing machine that stop working suddenly there is no power no nothing and I checked power supply and nothing wrong with power supply .

Your power supply normally connects to an EMI filter immediately upon coming into the washer. If you have a voltmeter and are comfortable with electricity, you should remove the top cover of the washer to access the connections. Unplug the washer and shut off the water while dismantling. Remove the 2 screws at the back of the top portion (lid) and push the lid towards the back to dislodge it.
At this point, you should be able to locate the incoming power cable and see where it connects to the EMI filter. Once you have identified the connections, plug it the washer and verify that there is voltage both before and after the EMI filter. If there is no voltage at the incoming side of the filter, then your cable is broken and should be replaced. If there is voltage on the incoming side of the filter and none on the outgoing side, your filter is open circuited and should be replaced. If there is voltage at all locations, look for wires that may have shaken off during operation. When poking around inside the washer, looking at wires, pull the plug first. If this does not help, take a picture of the schematic diagram that is affixed to the top of the soap dispenser/water inlet box and post it for our reference. I have attached a typical diagram from a older Samsung washer. section-yodzb2tavlblrpvbck4ieuwo-2-1.jpg

I have a front load Hoover washing machine. The two last times i've done the laundry the machine keeps adding water the entire time; it seems to be filling up and draining at the same time. It also starts...

My guess is the printed circuit control panel(the brain) is going south.
There is nothing you can do with these normally, best to get a domestic appliance guy/gal to check it out. If you want to search the web for a replacement get to the back of the machine, write down the make/model/serial number/ anything else, off the manufacturers plate.
You will need this to determine any spares are correct. Don't work on the basis that a similar machine or even the same model will have the same part because appliance manf are notorious for changing specs during production.
You may find that another brand is listed as well as your own, this is because they have the same factory but are badged according to brand or region.
If the machine is old and had a good beating then you may find it more economical to buy a new one. The brain can be 50% of a new buy!!

Washer powers down during wash cycles

It is most likely a very slow fill problem ,either the cold or hot water supply is restricted and the machine cannot sense the right water temp. and will shut down .

Machine cannot wash properly with a small amount of water.

Ckeck ,the screens in the water valve or at the hoses at the top where the faucets are ,clean them or replace them but never leave them out .
