Fn and ctrl are most prominent keys in ur key board which are directly related to the RAM of any computer so the changes in the setting may directly effect if of course. please restore your computed to the date before you have changed the settings and make sure the RAM seeting that you have changed are compitable with your laptop.. all the best.

F11 doesn't work as fullscreen toggle for Windows 8

Have you tried the fn key (bottom left, next to ctrl key)?

On my HP laptop running Windows 8.1, pressing f11 mutes the speaker (as per the logo on the key top) and fn+f11 in IE & Firefox toggles full screen.

My fn key will not work on my laptop. it did but then just stopped I have a toshiba , windowns 7

Dear User,

Kindly check in the bios if you have swapped Fn key with Ctrl Key.
Also check if Ctrl key works as Fn key.

If the settings are fine then it could be hardware issue with the Fn key.

Laptop button not working

Press alt+ctrl+fn
Most of the time this will work.

1. Try pressing both the left and right CTRL keys at the same time and
see if that releases CTRL.

2. Go to Start / Settings / Control Panel / Accessibility Options /
Keyboard Options.
Turn off CTRL lock if it's on.
If that solves it and to avoid future problems, press "Settings"
Turn off "Press modifier key twice to lock".
Turn on "Turn sticky keys off if 2 keys are pressed at once".
Or turn off "Use shortcut"

3. Clean your keyboard.

If not working, comment back. All the best.

How to turn off blue keys for an Compaq mini cq10??

Hi,

if you are refering to the blue letters or alphabets which are present on the keyboard. HP designs keyboard with a billingual layout in some Notebook models.

The HP "Blue" keys are indeed the "French" input keys or other language keys.

How to use the Blue Symbols or keys on a HP Notebook:

We can activate them by pressing Ctrl+fn+right Shift. To deactivate, press Ctrl+fn+right Shift twice, i.e. Ctrl+fn+right Shift then let go off Shift while still holding Ctrl and fn, then press Shift again.

When you press Ctrl+Fn+Right Shift it will switch to the the billigual layout. That means the blue characters become prioritie.

For example, if you are in the billingual layout, when you press shift+6 you will get a '?' but not the '^' sign.
