I had an F01 code and ended up replacing the CCU Board (part # w10205849) successfully and had 1 perfect wash. But the 2nd wash didnt complete. I replaced the CCU Board a second time and it's...

Hi

If you have already replaced your CCU you need to replace the door lock mechanism. Also you're still experiencing problems, you need to re-verify your electrical connections and check the CCU.

The door latch assembly is located behind the front panel of the washer on the right hand side. Locate and remove the three screws on the washer front that hold the door latch assembly in place. The whole assembly should come free from the washer front and be held by a plastic mounting bracket and several wire connectors.

Remove the lower panel under the door by loosening the three screws under the bottom edge on the front of the washer. If you prop up the front feet of the washer with some small blocks of wood, this will make access to the screws much easier. With the screws removed, the lower panel should drop down then come off. If the panel sticks, a light tap on either side will knock it loose. Reach your hand up inside the washer behind the front casing on the right-hand side. This is where the door latch assembly is located. At the bottom of the door latch assembly is a small pull tab. This is the manual release for the door. Pull the tab straight down and the door will come open.

The doors will not unlock for whatever reason. If there are no error codes being generated, this could have just been a momentary glitch. If you see "Fdl" or "Fdu" error codes, these are usually indications of a failed door latch assembly and will require replacement.

Please get back to us if you have further query else please accept the suggestion.

My washer stoped and shows a FDL code, what that means

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error "dlf" or FDL means a door latch failure. This means that you'll need to replace the door latch assembly however before doing that you can leave the washer unplugged for 30minutes so that it resets itself. In the meantime when it's unplugged just inspect the door latch wiring to ensure all the connector plugs are intact and not loose or broken. You can access the door latch wiring harness by removing the top panel of the washer. To remove the top panel just remove the three screws that hold the panel in place in the rear of the washer. With the screws removed, the panel will slide back, and then lift off. Locate the door latch assembly behind the front panel on the right hand side. Trace all the connectors from the door latch to the Central Control Unit (CCU) and make sure they are properly seated at both ends. If after doing this still the issue is not resolved then unfortunately you have to get the door latch replaced. Please rate the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Same Problem

The Central Control Unit (CCU) is the main computer for the washer. There is a small relay on the board that controls the door latch mechanism. The intermittent operation when you tap on the board indicates, you either have a bad relay, or bad interconnecting wiring. If you've already replaced the latch, then the CCU is the next logical choice to replace. Before you order a replacement, however, unplug the washer and locate and remove each connector plug (one at a time) that runs between the CCU and the door latch and reseat them. This is to ensure you do not have any loose or corroded contacts. You can also perform end to end continuity checks on the each connector to determine whether or not you have a wiring issue. If these preliminary checks fail to solve your problem, you will need to replace the CCU. These control boards are not serviceable.

If a replacement CCU is required, you can purchase on line at any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

You can use whatever part source you like, but I have found these sources to be reliable and provide great service. In addition, you can usually save by ordering the part vice paying a retailer.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Error code dLF

"Fdl" is a door latch failure error code. This is usually an indication that the door latch requires replacement. The manufacturer recommends unplugging the washer for at least 30 minutes to reset the computer. In some cases, the washer will experience momentary "glitches" and can be cleared using this method. You may also want to inspect the door latch wiring to ensure all the connector plugs are intact and not loose or broken. You can access the door latch wiring harness by removing the top panel of the washer. Removing the panel is simple. Just remove the three screws that hald the panel in place in the rear of the washer. With the screws removed, the panel will slide back, then lift off. Locate the door latch assembly behind the front panel on the right hand side. Trace all the connectors from the door latch to the Central Control Unit (CCU) and make sure they are properly seated at both ends. If these preliminary steps do not clear your problem, it is recommended that you replace the door latch. The following link explains how:

You can find a replacement latch assembly at searspartsdirect.com or repairclinic.com if you wish to order online. Just type in your complete model number. I hope you find this information helpful. Let me know if you require additional assistance. Hopefully you can solve your problem without requiring parts.

Washer will not start

"Fdl" is definitely a door latch error. This will cause the washer not to start. You will need to replace the latch to keep from getting errors and intermittent problems. It will only get worse until it fails altogether. To replace, just follow these steps: 1. Unplug the washer. 2. Feel around the rubber door boot along the front edge. At the bottom, behind the rubber you will find a tension spring. Pull the tension spring out and remove the wire retaining hoop. 3. Remove the door boot from around the door opening and push inside the washer so you can access the door latch behind the front panel. 4. Remove the three screws on the front of the washer that hold the latch in place. 5. Carefully remove the wire connecting plugs to the door latch and remove latch assembly from plastic retainer holding it in place. 6. Replace the door latch in the reverse order of the steps given. 7. Reinstall rubber door boot around the door opening making sure you seat the rubber all the way around the groove. 8. Now comes the hard part - putting the retaining spring back in place. Position the tension spring at the six o'clock position and start inserting the hoop from the top first, working your way around to the 4 and 8 o'clock positions. The assistance of another person would be great right about now. Hold the hoop in place at the 4 and 8 o'clock positions, making sure you keep enough tension on the hoop to keep it seated in the groove. 9. Stretch the tension spring in order to snap the remainder of the hoop back into place. I know this may seem like a lot, but it is a fairly simple repair. I hope this helps you.
