I tried calling my sister in Austria and I know the number is correct and the telephone says the number you have dialled has not been recognised.
This same answer comes when I try to call a friend in Norway and I believe I have that number correct as i have dialled it before.
So why is our telephone working normally for outgoing and receiving UK calls but not working for calls abroad?

i.e i believe austria is 00 + 43 +
Area Code+ Tel # and norway is 00 + 47 +

Try these..1...remove your telephone line from base unit and fix it into a working land phone and check whether is it having normal dial tone.If it's having engage tone(beep beep...)remove paralleled phones and re connect to cordless base unit.
2.If line is ok (normal dial tone with full volume) & still display indicates line is busy, your main base unit must be having faulty components inside.Commonly these defects happen in thundering or surges through telephone lines. You have to take full set to a repair shop.
What you want to do is to activate the call forwarding feature offered by your phone company. Different phone companies have different procedures. With many companies you dial *72 then at the second dial tone dial the number to forward to. This number has to answer the call to activate call forwarding. For precise instructions please contact your telephone company.
Your phone ahs been locked by mistake. When telephone is locked, except for a saved emergency number, no numbers can be dialled; incoming call can be answered.
To unlock it, Lift Handset, select function. (1) Lock. (0) Unlock. Press SET key and replace handset. OK.
There isn't a "+" button you need to use. It's just a way that numbers often get written. If you're in the US, you dial international calls by dialling 011, then the country code and telephone number. An international number may be written as +011 49 23456, for instance, but you don't actually dial a "+".
Have you tried plugging and then plugging the phone back in. This should discharge all static electricity. I had the same trouble once. If you are using a service such as Comcast Digital Voice, then restart all equipment (this apply's to VOIP services also). if it still persist then try a different phone. If it still persist then contact your phone company and explain all the solutions that you have tried.
I had the same problem and my hubby managed to reset the phone by simply unplugging it from the electical network. Just wait for few minutes (the date goes back to 1 Jan 2005), then plug it again and try to dial a number. It should work.
