SMPK4083 ONLY DOWNLOADS CERTAIN SONGS, WHY?

ARE THERE CERTAIN FORMATS FOR SONGS WITH THIS PLAYER?

  • AVIS EDWARDS Oct 18, 2012

I tried the first solution e-mailed to me, nothing happened. My time is limited this has already taken hours of back and forth with the player & computer & I still don't understand. I appreciate the help but can't be limited by time allotted to get this resolved. If time runs out for you I'll re-post. I really don't understand, the download given to me yesterday did absolutely nothing. I'm a working woman & not able to stay glued to my computer. God Bless & I thank you all. I'm not giving up though, I will continue to try till I get it right!

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet to your computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable to the MP3 player and the computer.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player will create a MP3 music file for each music track. Click on this link for instruction on converting music files to mp3 file format :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r5798418-creating_transferring_mp3_music_files

SOURCE: Won't play certain songs

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
-----
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.aspx

SOURCE: I HAVE DOWNLOWDED SONGS BUT A LOT OF SONGS WONT COPY TO MP3

Okay, fist, you need to make sure the player is good (boots up, goes to menu, etc.). next, you need to put all of the songs into media player, then SYNCH them to the player. If you can't do that, try putting all of the songs into a folder called "music" and then put them into a subfolder called "albums." it should work shortly afterwards.

Hi

I have experienced before when my cousins MP3 is corrupted A

All song cannot be played because of some faulty songs or files. What I did is I connected it to my laptop using a USB cable and then transfer all the songs files & the picture files from MP3 to Computer. Then I deleted all these songs and pictures in MP3 player.

Then I started playing song and opening picture file each file into my computer to see which on is corrupted (that cause your MP3 faulty). If faulty, delete it. Once you all check the song and it is playing in your computer and pictures can be open to your computer. It means all these files are working good. Make one sample song transfer to your MP3 player and play it in your MP3. Once it played, you can start transferring all files.

I also have the sylvania smpk4083 player. My problem it has great sound, but my problem is that every song only plays a few seconds then it goes to the next song. I can't figure out how to set it for normal play.
Can you please advise so I can enjoy it before I return it to the store.

Hi, I would like to actually put music on my player, but nothing is working, and only certain songs will sinc through windows media player and drag and drop doesn't work... Please Help!

That player is only capable of playing songs that are in certain formats. iTunes/AAC format is out of the question. The songs that you are trying to load are probably DRM-encrypted WMA's that don't have transfer rights. Either buy the transfer rights, or better yet - only download songs that are in pure mp3 format - they will never give you grief.
