Truck starts fine cold but once it warms up it won't start again until it sits awhile. Has new water pump and just change fuel pump still won't start when it is warm.
First i would check the crank sensor by looking for rpm's on the tachometer or scan tool if you see any rpm's then crank sensor is good. Then check for leaking injectors and if they are not leaking then you will need to check the ECM it may have failed.
Tachometer is showing rpm's so crank sensor is probably working...checked spark plugs and they clean . I need tester to check fuel pressure to make sure not leaking. I don't know how to test ECM.....any idea's???
You need to check all power and grounds going into and coming out of the computer for corrosion or bad connections. You will also need a GM scan tool to check for any error codes pertaining to the computer itself.
Make sure to pull the fuel rail to see if the injectors are leaking if you have a fuel pressure drop.I had a 2000 Dakota with the same symtom and it was 6 out of 8 injectors dripping fuel when i pull the fuel rail

The check valve on the fuel line at the filter housing may be leaking back not maintaining pressure when the engine is not running.
