Bought the 88379 digital camera

bought the 88379 digital camera for my 6 year old son for christmas and he is very disapointed with it as we can not get it to work.
when we try to switch it on there are just lines on the mode screen and nothing else.
what can we do?
this seemed a great little camera for children only if it works.

take camera back and get a refund seems like the firmware in camera ha sgot corrupt. doyou have the right kind of batterys in it
alakaline reg rechargeable? check the book that came with the camera for proper battery 's

DO NOT use this camera if you have Windows Vista! Wiped out my entire picture folder! Company can't help with a fix.... Take the thing back and don't load any of their software on your computer!
