Belt, Water Pump Although few dishwashers have a water pump belt, if the dishwasher won't drain there might be a worn or broken water pump belt. After removing the lower kick panel the motor can be seen in the front, the water pump belt is on the bottom of the motor.

Drain Pump If the dishwasher won't drain, the drain pump might be defective. Test the pump motor with an Ohm meter. Drain pumps are not repairable, if it's defective it will need to be replaced.

Drain Impeller The drain impeller is attached to the pump and pushes the water out of the dishwasher, through the drain tube and into the garbage disposer or drain line. If the dishwasher won't drain, the drain impeller might be broken or worn out. Replace both the impeller and seal at the same time.

Drain Solenoid Kit If the dishwasher won't drain, the drain solenoid kit might need to be replaced. The drain solenoid is an actuator that opens a flap to allow the water to drain.
Drain Valve The drain valve can get clogged with debris and should be cleaned out if the dishwasher won't drain. If it seems clear of debris but won't actuate, it will need to be replaced. The drain valve is not repairable Pump and Motor Assembly If the dishwasher won't drain, the pump and motor assembly might be defective. If the motor runs during the drain cycle, check for a blockage in the drain line. If the motor won't run during the drain cycle or if it just hums when it should be running, the pump and motor assembly might need to be replaced.

Clogged or Improperly Installed Garbage Disposer If the dishwasher won't drain and the garbage disposer was installed recently, the installer might have forgotten to knock out the drain plug from this disposer. All garbage disposers are sold with a solid plug in the drain tube for situations where a dishwasher isn't connected. However, if the dishwasher is connected, the plug will need to be removed. If the disposer wasn't replaced recently, remove the dishwasher drain hose from the disposer and clean out both the fitting on the disposer and the end of the drain hose. These are the most common places to find an obstruction if the dishwasher won't drain.

Check Valve If the dishwasher won't drain the check valve might be stuck closed. The check valve is a small plastic device which prevents water from returning to the dishwasher after it has drained. If the valve gets stuck closed, it will prevent the water from draining. The check valve is the device that the drain hose is attached to on the dishwasher.

Check Ball If the dishwasher won't drain the check ball might be stuck. The check ball is a small plastic ball in the check valve which prevents water from returning to the dishwasher after it has drained. If the ball gets stuck, it will prevent the water from draining also. The check valve is the device that the drain hose is attached to on the dishwasher.

SOURCE: water isnt draining

Check your drain line and/or drain pump. The drain line should have a high loop at the point prior to where it connects to your drainage system in order to prevent drain water from the kitchen sink from back flowing into the dishwasher. In addition, most drain pumps have a small check valve that prevents this water from backing up as well. However, if you have something lodged in the drain pump (i.e., a toothpick) it can prevent the check valve from closing properly. This can cause water to back up into the dishwasher. You mentioned that the water will not drain. Is the drain pumping runnings at all? Please post back and let me know.

Sounds like a clogged drain. Remove food, remove bins and shelves. Remove ice maker if freezer is in the bottom. Remove back panel. .melt ice on drain pan and run hot water into drain.

Water on floor - french door refrigerator with freezer below

Yes the bottom compartment does have a drain opening but to see it you will need to remove the rear panel covering the evaporator inside the back wall of the freezer compartment. See item location number 11 on page 3 of the parts list. That will need to be removed so you can reach the drain inside the freezer compartment. The fresh food section also has a drain. Puddle on floor

dear Damian sounds like the drain from the freezer is clogged you need to unclogg it and make sure the water flows through. Now if its not visible you need to unplug the fridge take out the shelves and unscrew the back panel. Then at the bottom of the evaporator (the winding pipes ) there should be a block of ice which needs to be defrosted until you see the drain hole that must also be free of ice and that will be the hardest part. To unclogg the ice from the hole you will need some hot water to pour into the hole let it melt a bit then sponge it out and repeat process until the water flows directly through. hope this helps good luck. regards Tony

What causes mould in dishwashers , cleaned it yesterday mould was thick in it what's causing this

The mold is caused by food particles not getting fully pushed through the drain hose when the dishwasher drains. The drain hose is corrugated, and bits of food particles can sometimes collect on the ridges and in the valleys of the corrugation. Given the right circumstances, this can cause a gradual buildup inside the hose, just like cholesterol in our arteries. The presence of moisture and lack of sunlight in the hose allows mold to grow on these food particles. You will want to remove the grates at the bottom or back of your dishwasher (usually removing just a couple of screws will do it) and clean with bleach water (a cup of bleach in a gallon of water) as far down as you can reach. After you have done that, replace the grate, put the rest of the bleach water in the bottom of the dishwasher and run a regular cycle (no dishes, please!). Why not just put the bleach water in and run the cycle? Because that will kill the mold, but will not remove its build-up. You want to remove the build-up first, as far as you can reach---it's easier to remove when it's live. Then kill what's left in the drain.

If your problem was serious enough, you may want to replace your drain hose, too.

Installed an artcool in my appartment and it constanly leaves a little puddle of water on the floor, irregardless of the temp setting or the fan speed. Drain hose is connected to the plumbing drain. Water...

first of all check the outdoor unit if it is in your reach  than simply touch both the valve & feel the temp if smaller valve is colder than the bigger one than surely the problem is with refrigerant quantity.

Our freezer is defrosting and leaving a puddle of water on the floor. The unit is 1 yr old..

Don't know what type of model you have but most have a hole for a drain in the back bottom of unit to drain down to a pan under the unit. Look for this drain opening. It's either clogged with food or frozen water. Clear away debris and pour boiling water through and see if it drains into pan under unit. You may have to do this several times.

Water puddling in bottom of freezer which freezes

Tool needed: Screw drive with the insert tips can be used to remove screws use the end of the screw driver with out a philips bit or flat tip inserted. Remove frozen food to camping coolers igloo ice chests or coleman ice chests or a freezer in your home . Remove all racks and baskets to expose movable panels at the inside back of the freezer compartment.
Notice the 1/4" hex nuts remove the screws holding the panels at the back wall. Clear built up ice carefully. You now can take out the panels and expose the fan and cooling cool that creates the cold temperature on the freezer side.

Near the bottom is an aluminum U shaped pan with a shallow funnel indentation at the bottom. Clear ice from the funnel pan and inside bottom carefully. Sharp objects break ice nicely and can pierce the interior surfaces . Look under the cooling coil and at the back wall is a screw holding this soft metal catch pan in place. Remove the screw and carefully tip and slid out the catch pan tray. You now have access to the drain hole that is frozen closed or clogged. Place a large towel in the bottom of the freezer area to catch water. Pour hot tap water a half cup at a time into the drain area. Do not use boiling water the plastic inside a refrigerator or freezer can not tolerate high temperature. I have melted a freezer compartment in a GE with a hair dryer. Remove the water with a clean reag and add more warm or hot water repeat until the drain allows water to flow. stop adding water or the evaporation pan under the refrigerator will over flow.
Check the refrigerator about once a year for the freezeup problem or keep an eye on the bottom of the freezer looking for the build up of water frozen on the inside floor. The other solution get a new refrigerator.

Water puddling in bottom of freezer and freezing

the drain in the back of the freezer is probably full of ice. you need to pull out panel and use heat from a blow dryer to unplug the drain. then take a small gauge copper wire long enough to extend into the drain a couple of inches and loop it around the black heating element then when it goes yhrough defrost it should keep this from reaccuring

LARGE WATER LEAK ON FLOOR

the reason is probably that the drain hole in the freezer (i assume this is a frost-free type) is blocked. take off the rear panel of the freezer and you will probably see a block of ice at the bottom. melt off with a hairdryer and free the drain with hot water making sure that water flows freely away
