Question about SanDisk Sansa MP3 Player

1 Answer

SanDisk Sansa Express MP3 player stays at SanDisk logo

When I power on it stands at SanDisk logo for few seconds and goes off. When I connect it to computer, SanDisk logo comes on and goes off for for every few(5) seconds. Not getting charged as well.
I tried doing rest by pressing the middle select button and Vol+ button. Still didn't work.
Some one has suggested me to comemct microSD card and check.
I have tried connecting micro SD card it didnt come up by itself. Then I poweron. Again it stays at SanDisk logo for few secs and goes off. Even if I connect to computer, I could see only SanDisk logo.
Can you please help me???

I have the same problem but when I install the firmware it says I need to plug in my device and wait for windows to recognize it. Windows recognizes it but the firmware installation won't continue. If someone could help that would be great!!!

You may need to get a firmware update from this web site: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1376
Remember that you need to back up all of your information before doing the update.

When you plug in your device, hold the minus button before plugging it in to the computer and while it is in the computer until a message pops up and says something like searching for hardware for you device or something like that.

How do you shut it off

Press the power button for a few seconds until the Sansa logo shows up on the screen. Make sure it's not connected to your computer, the Sansa will not turn off if it's connected.

Sansa express 2GB not working, cant update too..

Try a soft reset. Do this by pressing the center button and the up volume button simultaneously and try turning it on. If that does not work for you, you will need to get a micro sd card (it can be a dummy) and insert it into the slot on the side of the mp3 player. If you do not have one, you can use one of the round edges of a paper clip (be careful) to get it to come on. When you put either in, it should come on automatically, but if not, just press the power button. This should work.

SanSisk MP3 player won't come on.

Put it on a steady surface like on the ground and take the largest hammer (metal one will work fine) and hit it as hard as you can...All my problems are resolved!

It shows Sandisk logo and freezes there

Remove the SD card and try this;

Run the recovery tool from the SanDisk website. Make sure you select "format" when prompted.

You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool.

- Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds)
- Slide the hold switch into "hold" position.
- Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer.

Then run the recovery tool. Select format when prompted.

Best of Luck.
