Question about Sony Optiarc AD-7170S Burner
On my ACER Travelmate 7520G; OS is Vista Home Premium, I have a Sony Optiarc DVD-RW AD-7560A ATA device running.
After an automatically installed Vista-Update, this device doesn't recognice DVD's any more. CD-ROM's are well recorderd.
The device manager also recognices this device as a CD-ROM drive only. Clicking ''update driver automatically'' shows: ''The best driver for this device is already installed'' .
I also have uninstalled and reinstalled this device.
But I don't get a DVD-driver for it.
Can anyone give me a hint how to solve this problem?
Optiarc dvd was not recognized in Acer Travelmate. Problems vith the registry. This link solved it http://support.acer-euro.com/faqs/search.html?Query=optiarc

I have the exact same problem, I have even updated the firmware. Sony is saying that it is a hardware issue.
