Optiarc DVD-RW AD 7560A - well recording CD-ROMs, but not DVDs

gary1962 on Jan 01, 2009

" "
On my ACER Travelmate 7520G; OS is Vista Home Premium, I have a Sony Optiarc DVD-RW AD-7560A ATA device running.
After an automatically installed Vista-Update, this device doesn't recognice DVD's any more. CD-ROM's are well recorderd.

The device manager also recognices this device as a CD-ROM drive only. Clicking ''update driver automatically'' shows: ''The best driver for this device is already installed'' .

I also have uninstalled and reinstalled this device.
But I don't get a DVD-driver for it.

Can anyone give me a hint how to solve this problem?

I have exactly the same problem on my Acer Extensa 5620 with Vista. I did find a website that states that they will e-mail a driver if you send a request, which I did, but did not receive any e-mail. You can also register on that website, which I also tried, but then couldn't log on. I've spent hours searching for a driver with no luck.

Would really be happy to find a solution for this!
