Most "no frost" fridge freezers have this problem. No, they dont frost where you can see them, but inside is another thing!
If the freezer is working, the problem mainly stems from the condenser fan that transfers "the cold" air to the other section.
It could be the fan has broken (can you hear it running when the freezer door is shut and you have your finger pushing the fridge door switch, go on see if the light goes out!?) if it make a funny noise, then you can be pretty sure that ice inside the unit is touching this fan, so it needs a real good defrost.
Otherwise it might be the tube/ channel that transfers the air, is also frozen solid, Again a good defrost is in order. And by this I mean a good 24 hrs, unplugged, door opened, warm room, and just left. You will be suprised how much water comes out. And if you decide to remove insulating covers to speed the process up NEVER NEVER chisel or hack away at the ice... there are always tubes hidden in the ice, and if you hit one of them,,, bye bye fridge!
Hope this helps.

Just about all friges work off the frezer .the evap fan moves the air fromthe frezer to the frig.so you would here fan noise.i dont know your brand but on most frezers if you turn the frezer temp to the highest setting thats acomplished by keeping the air from going to the frige.hence warmer frig temps .also make sure fan on out side back is working and condenser is clean.again turn air damper control from frezer to frige to lowest setting .somthimes this could be in frig section.God bless ,tom

Hii have an indeset fridge freezer 2 year old freezer ok fridge not cooling

Usual problem, let it defrost properly, I mean 48 hours with doors open in warm room. It is most likely frozen up inside (its frost free! no?) inside is a different matter and they dont tell you that!

I have an unexplained smelly zanussi fridge/freezer model Model zx99/5si? I have a zanussi frost free fridge/freezer model Model zx99/5si which is just 4 years old and it is now giving off a revolting...

Hi - we had this problem, and it was in fact where some blood from a defrosting pice of meat drained into the compressor condensation tank and began to decay!

I agree the smell is terrible, so a good clean up is needed but this solves the problem immediately!

Kind regards,

Mike

Indesit fridge freezer (2 years old) not getting cold

if compressor is running, then you are correct in saying no point in replacing stat. by sounds of it you have a faulty compressor fault or a syatem fault - impossible to dignose by remotely. this is not a diy job i'm afraid

Indesit fridge freezer not getting cold (2 years old)

I would first check to see if the evaporator in the freezer is all iced up. If it is thats whay you do not have any cooloing. And If that is the case you have a defrost problem and it is not short on gas. If you see only a few coils on the evaporator frosted up then you do have a leak in the system and my be covered under the manufactures warrenty.

ca. 2010 GE fridge with Samsung ice maker. I have to hold the reset on the icemaker every few days to keep making ice or it quits. What's the fix? When it works, there's a loud popping every 3 seconds for about 2 minutes, then a few minutes later ice harvests into the bin. With my hand against the outside of the fridge next to the icemaker, I can literally feel each pop. I originally thought it was the ice release heater failing that caused cubes to pop loose hard, but I couldn't find anything wrong electronically when I took things apart and examined the board and connections in the icemaker. I may have missed something mechanically that's causing some part to flex and then suddenly give against the wall inside every 3 secs as the clock cycles through the beginning of a harvest? What might that be? But after reassembly it now has the added feature of harvesting a few times and then stopping altogether. We run flat out of ice if I forget to press and hold the reset button for 10 secs. every few days. Apparently the clock is cycling incompletely or something now. Could a cog be missing/broken/out of alignment in the clockworks, such that when it gets so far along it slips, but can be reset? How about the lift arm? Could it be out of position inside such that something it's connected to isn't properly repositioning when the arm drops back down? Or could all of this be related to a faulty control board elsewhere in the fridge?
