Question about Microsoft ZUNE JS8BRPBDLUG MP3 Player

Zune frozen with logo

Tryied to upload music and all i get is the logo frozen ..I have tried holding the the back and up buttons.. no difference only shows battery charge symbol and exclamation mark!

    this is the SECOND 30gb i had in a year and both had the same problem!

    My 30GB ZUNE have the same problem, a power on LOGO hangs and cannot get to do anything any more. None of the switches is working.

    Me too. I was trying to turn it off and on and the screen is frozen on the Zune logo... I will try to let the battery drain and see what happens.

Let the battery drain completely and then plug into computer. There was a leap year glitch from Microsoft and the fix is working today. Ours froze yesterday and it's OK this morning. This only fixes those that froze Dec. 31st.

Have a zune 120g thqt displays a 5 and zune player with a X in the screen. And it says to contact support. It wont cut off or reset it wont do anything at all.

Have a 80 GB Zune. It froze one day and was showing the message 'Connect the player to your PC'. I did that but then some error message started appearing in the Zune PC software. I tried formatting the...


Try the reset procedure...

Can't put music on zune!


1. Sync the Zune with its "home" computer. Each Zune has a specific "home" computer that it automatically syncs with. Use your Zune-specific USB cord to connect your device to this computer, and then sync your device as you normally would. This will solve most software hiccups and will generally get your Zune out of a "frozen" state.
2. Perform a soft reset. If syncing your device doesn't work, you can reset your software by holding the "Back" and "Up" buttons on the central control pad. Your screen will flicker, and then the Zune logo will appear with a status bar. Within a few moments, your software should be returned to normal.
3. Perform a system restore. However, doing this will erase all of your music, videos and photos, so only do this if you have exhausted both of the other troubleshooting steps. You can restore your Zune by connecting it to your computer, selecting it from the "Devices" list, and then pressing the "Restore" button. The process may take a few minutes, depending on how much content you had on your device. Once the restore has finished, your Zune will be completely blank.

The reset hole should be at the bottom right side of the player depending on which model type you have. If a reset does not work using the reset hole, then try this: First, back up all of your music and do this: Turn off the player and disconnect it from the computer. Then press and hold the play/puse button and turn it on simultaneously. The player should be in recovery mode. Scroll down and select format (all) and let it format. Then reload all of music back onto your player and it should work like new. Hope this helps!

Zune 30g brown STILL frozen on Logo


At this time, Microsoft still hasn't found a fix for it. They're having a lot of problems with the Zune 30 freezing up. Before you try to start a class action, at least give them some time to get you up & running again. They only found out about the problem on Tuesday. Starting a class action will only drive the prices up.

There is a problem with these known as the Zune 30's y2k9 bug. If you call they will fix the problem for you for free. Call 1-877-438-9863 for zune technical support.

goto step 4 only remove clip for battery wait ten seconds. It worked for me!

Zune


To reset the zune you must press and hold the back button and the top part of the zune pad. Other parts of the zune pad will not work.

When plugging the zune into your PC does the PC detect it (device manager -> portable devices). You should hear the ding sound of hardware connecting.

If it is connecting to the PC and is not detected by the software than it is likely a permissions problem. Right click the software icon and choose run as administrator.

If it is not detected by the PC than check your usb cable and make sure your zune is charged and not frozen.
