Dell Photo 926 always prints alignment page on power up

A while back, the quality of my prints degraded, so I ran a couple of alignment pages. I eventually solved the problem by replacing the color cartridge (even though it was still good). But now, every time I power up the printer, it goes into printing an alignment page. How do I shut this this off? I repeatedly set the mode back to copy, but it still happens every time I turn the printer on, and I'm tired of wasting paper. Any ideas?

    Same thing happens to me. Wastes paper, ink and time in addition to being extremely aggravating.

i was having these same exact problems then i looked at my old ink cartridge and saw that the blue tape was off and that i hadnt taken it off my new one i was trying to print with.!!!

1. try to make a copy.

if it copy fine, then its an issue with software.

2. Try to scan with MS Paint,

Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories > Paint
Click on file > from scanners and camera > scan

It should scan if its not the windows issue...

3. Try different computer if it does not scan with Paint\

4. If it works with Paint, try to open Dell AIO center and try to fax from that too...

5. Turn the printer off, take the power brick out from back of the printer where power cable goes in , wait for 15 seconds to connect it back and turn on and try again to print, it should work fine

SOURCE: Dell AIO 926 driver is not installed, even though I installed it!

Hi, The problem here is that the CD has an older version of the driver which has some known issues. Few steps will be required to fix this.

  1. Unplug the printer
  2. Goto control panel -> Add/Remove programs (or) Programs & features (Vista), uninsuatll the Dell Printer software if listed.
  3. Download the Driver from the Dell Support Website

SOURCE: Dell Photo 926 printer keeps saying that it cant

1. cancel the alignment .
2. try one cart at a time and only make a copy of a test document ...(press "select" if u get cart missing error ) ...only of the carts is causing the error
3. possible u have defect cart ..or the internal sensor could have gone bad (rare scenario )
4. get a replacement carts...

You might have to uninstall the printer restart your computer then reinstall your printer
click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll to ports(COM&LPT) + to expand you should see a communication port and Ecp printer port you

might see a yellow? ! question exclamation mark or a red X this will mean you need to install a new driver for this device right click you will have options to update driver,disable,uninstall or select properties again you will have the similiar options also you can troubleshoot the device

Keeps coming up and running it prints out alingning ink cartridge I cant get it to stop doing this..So printer will not print.


Hello, try this:
Place a blank sheet of paper in the printer.
Turn on the printer, and you can see the alingning page.
Put that page in the scanner and press the key SCAN.
Although it has already done, some printers will lose the registration and request a new alignment.

How to Align a Printer Cartridge for a Dell Photo AIO 926Printers capable of producing high quality graphics and photos, like the Dell Photo All-In-One 926 printer, must have their cartridges properly aligned for best results. Typically you only need to align your printer's ink cartridges immediately after replacement. However, if documents show signs of uneven lines the cartridges being out of alignment. After aligning the cartridges print a test page to check print Instructions 1 Load printer paper into the Dell Photo 926 printer 2 Click on the start menu icon, on your computer, with your left mouse button. Left click on "Control Panel." Left click on "Hardware" and then left click on "Printers and Devices." 3 Locate and double left click on the icon for the Dell Photo 926 printer. The printer control window will open. Double left click on the "Adjust Print Options" button. 4 Click on the "Services" tab in the printer's window menu bar. Double left click on the "Align Print Cartridges" button." Left click on "align." Wait for the "Parameter" page to print. 5 Compare the figures on printed parameter page to current settings in the "Align Print Cartridges" window that has popped up on the computer. If the figures on the printed page correspond to the figures displayed in the window the cartridges are in alignment. If the figures on the page do not correspond with the figures in the window you need to set new parameters. This happened to me as well. Take your alignment page (or print another one) and put it in your scanner. The AIO printer will use the scanned alignment page to reconfigure your alignment.

Before you serve it with .45 I'd like to suggest that in any case if you are having an old black cartridge then put it inside the chamber and shoot your print command to your printer. I'm sure it will solve your alignment problem. Later, open any coloured doc, hit ctrl plus P and go to option menu search for grayscale and select it. If you will shoot your command at this appropriate time It will deffinetly work. If its not working you are most welcome to comment back I've one more solution left for you.

Aligning Ink Cartridges Your printer automatically aligns the ink cartridges when they are installed or replaced. To verify your ink cartridges are aligned, you can print an alignment page. After you close the printer unit, press the Menu button. The alignment page begins printing. During printing, the operator panel display reads Alignment Page Printing. When complete, the message reads Auto Alignment Complete. Your ink cartridges are now aligned for optimal print quality.
You may also need to align ink cartridges when characters are not properly formed or are not aligned at the left margin, or when vertical or straight lines appear wavy.
To align the ink cartridges:
  1. Load plain paper. For more information, see Loading Paper.

  2. Click Start® Programs or All Programs® Dell Printers® Dell Photo AIO Printer 922® Dell Printer Solution Center.

  3. Click the Maintenance tab

  4. Click Align to fix blurry edges.

  5. Click Print.

The ink cartridges align when the page prints.

Dell Photo 926 printer no longer feeds paper correctly


Normal 0 Could have a corrupt driver.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and when the CD software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.

printer wont print anything. computer says no print documents pending even though ive clicked print a few times and on different programs and internet pages as well. printer will print only if i copy something press print test page from the printer itself but it doesnt print anything from the computer
