Populate the destination list You must populate the destination list in HP Solution Center for the Scan To function to work. Follow these steps to populate the destination list.
NOTE: HP Solution Center is the software that came with the product. You must make sure the software is installed on the computer for all the product functions to work correctly. The software is also necessary for completing this procedure. Install HP Solution Center if it is not already installed.

SOURCE: Print Cartridges Refer to documentation (No function works)

I was getting this same VERY unhelpful error and the only thing that solved it for me was to buy another genuine HP black cartridge (350XL). As soon as I put it in, it cleared the error and sprang to life. As a matter of interest, before this happened, the HP Toolbox utility was also saying that the old cartridge was nearly empty. So why on earth doesn't the printer tell you the same thing??? Come on HP - get your firmware sorted. Disappointed.

Printer HP Photosmart C5280 All-in-one on information display show: ! Print cartridges. Refer to print documentation. My question is: What is problem and how I can fix?

Hello,

Check the cartridges, maybe one of them can not recognised by the printer or isn't set properly. If the cartridge isn't recognised in this case you must buy a new cartridge.

Well, if you need documentation on your hp product, just go to the hp website; www.hp.com and when the page opens, click on the 'Support & Drivers' link near the top of the page, and then follow the links to what you need to download, be it drivers or manuals or even faq's on your product. Hi! When I turn on the device, it shows a message on the display "Print Cartridges. Refer to printer documentation" I tried turning it off, unplug it, remove cartridges and put them back,...

It sounds like you have done everything to resolve the problem. I would try unistalling and reinstalling an updated driver for your operating system and printer:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=ca&docname=c01887712&product=3204464&

If that does not resolve problem I would download and run the disgnostic utilty:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02575922&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=ca&product=3204464

This should be able to walk you through a resolution.

Trust this is helpful. :)

I have installed 2 new ink cartridges. The orange

Are the cartridges genuine new hp, or are they compatibles, or refills? If not genuine hp, get some and see if that solves your problem.
