Question about SanDisk Extreme III 2GB Secure Digital Memory Card

1 Answer

Not able to read contents from Memory disk

I have 2 GB Extreme III SanDisk Memory Card, which is having 1.1 GB of contents which I'm not able to access. It prompts folder is empty, but when I look into the properties, it shows 1.1 GB is been used out of 2 GB. Now if it is used then why I'm not able to see it?

I use this disk for my Canon S5 IS camera.

Hello pgaudette1
To recover accidentally erased data , try http://www.recovermemorycards.com/
Probably the data were erased when extracting the card with the camera still " on " , but this is only a supposition .

I have a Sandisk Extreme III 2.0 GB and when I plugged it into my mac and click on "Get info" I get.... Capacity: 1.89 GB Available: 1.2 MB (?) Format: MS-POS File System (FAT16) I erased...

The mac still sees the "deleted" files because they're still there. I would recommend you using Disk Utility and formatting the card as "MS-DOS".

That should do the trick ;)

Or you can try emptying the trash with the card connected, it may or may not see the files and trash them. Apple's Trash program is pretty trashy ;)

My sandisk 1.0 GB memory card with a lock switch on the side, no longer has the switch when i tried to unlock it the switch came off. what can i do to unlock it

1.Download and install Sony EzRecover and attempt to use it to format the card (this will erase all content). If this doesn't work, try Step 4. 2.Delete and repartition the micro SD card using Windows XP. Select "Control Panel" > "Administrative Tools" > "Disk Management." Select the micro SD drive and click "Delete." Right-click on empty drive and select "New Partition."

I need the serial number for my sandisk Cf card

The serial number is normally printed in small white text on the bottom edge of the card, beside where it says made in China. If its not there its possible its a fake sandisk memory card. Copy the link below for more info.

Sandisk extreme iii 4gb problems??

May be a problem or trash in the reader slot.

Try the card in another device connected by usb, ie, put it in a camera then connect it to the computer.

Connect the camera with the card in it to the PC and then allow Windows to detect the camera and pop up a menu. This menu will have the option of copying files to the PC.
