Just had a goodman heater installed but I can't find the model # or serial # on it anywhere. I have no paperwork from the manufacturer only the installer which tells nothing.

Take the top door off the furnace and there will be a tag on either the side panel or bottom panel of the unit.

Is there a uniform way of reading the serial numbers of all mfrs of A/Cs. Our warranty company needs to quickly establish the age of a A/C unit at the point of claim to determine how much we can authorize...

Unfortunately, no. Each manufacturer has their own coding system for serial numbers. Which to them reveals many things about the unit, regardless of the Model Number. Only Goodman can tell you that. If you live in the USA contact Goodman Residential Customer Support @ 1-877-254-4729.

I really hope this helps you. Please let me know and thanks for choosing FixYa.

I can't find any info on my Goodman furnace. It's a GMP and the model number on the front of it doesn't match any goodman model numbers G2FD036S17A......I'm lost

Take the top panel off and on the inside of the left side of furnace as you are facing it should have a nameplate rating.

The nameplate rating should have the model number and serial number of the actual unit that you have.
It will list BTUS/Electrical Amps.

Hi I was told that if you buy a new goodman furnace on

True, because there is no installing contractor involved with the sale the manufacturer cannot be assured that the heater will be installed properly. Contact a local installer to see if they can sell you the equipment for a few dollars over their cost if you pay them to install it. It may be cheaper in the long run especially if you are purchasing a Goodman. If not, follow the installation instructions to the letter.

Is there a warranty on the Inducer draft blower assembly

Many Goodman products carry a 5 to 10 year parts warranty; however, they have to be replaced by a qualified contractor. The labor may not be included in the warranty. Your best bet is to contact your local distributor. Have your model and serial number ready when you call. They should be able to provide the installing contractor's name and offer some warranty information.
I hope you find this helpful. Good Luck!!!!

Please tell me the date of manufacture for Goodman CAP3636C6AA

You will need to post the serial number. The model number does tell me that you have a painted case, three ton coil with a fixed metering device installed, and it fits a 21" furnace or air handler. The first four numbers of the serial number will give the manufacturing date.

Is goodman a quality product?

When properly sized and professionally installed, Goodman is a quality product.
With over 20 years experience servicing and installing all the big names as well as the bargain brands, I sell and install Goodman including in my family's home.
I have been very satisfied with their products over the last 10 years or so. They had some issues with their old clamshell heat exchangers but they have redesigned them and are now using tubular heat exchangers like most major manufacturers.

Hope this helps.

Goodman GDS80703ANA

Yes, goodman offers a kit. However you will need a gas technician adjust the pressure for you. The whole conversion will take about an hour. The kit may cost $50 and labor is anyone's guess. Call your gas company and give then the model and serial nimber. They can order it and install it.
