You can get the software free from Sandisk's website, but you are definitely going to need to call them to get the original USB cord. Using a non-proprietary cord can ruin the player.

My ipod touch [4th generation] screen is stuck on the usb cord pointing toward the itunes logo

The solution is: 1. Turn of your iPod. 2. While holding down the 'Home' button, connect to iTunes WARNING: Doing this will return your iPod back to original 'out of the box' settings and you will lose everything. On the bright side, you get a 'fresh' start and it will auto update to the most recent software version.

Have you tried a different cable? Many players happen to come with dodgy USB cords.

My computer doesn't reconize my mp3

check if your usb cord if defective.

To check if the mp3 is recognized by the computer go to device manager in the compuer properties.

Go to device manager go to hardware tab and search for new hardware, if you see a question mark in the usb port it means that the computer cant recognize it and you may need a driver. Some mp3 have cd installer of its software. Install it in your computer. and try if the computer can recognize it.

also check if your usb port is working properly...

Computer does not identify MP3

The player uses the generic mass storage driver on almost any computer. Plug in the USB cord, and two extra drive letters will appear in Windows Explorer. If not, try changing the USB mode in the options on the player. If it still doesn't work, your player or USB cord could be defective.

Problem trying to use usb cord to sync music to ilo mp3 player

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

You probably have Winders Media Player 11. If you can find another computer that has WMP 10, you can use that computer to do the firmware upgrade, then go back to the original computer. Thingsa should work fine. Otherwise, you need to unistall WMP 11 and WMP11 runtime. Another case of Billy messing us up. And don't even get me started about vista....
