Yeah, the songs are in the wrong format for your player.There are some DRM-protected songs that allow you to play the song on your computer, but they won't actually play on an mp3 player even though they appear to transfer. If you download ALL of your songs in mp3 format, you will never have this problem.
I had the same problem. The songs that won't play are probably MP4 files and the shaker only plays MP3 files. You need to change the file format of the songs on the shaker to MP3 files. I downloaded "Media Coder" which was free and it converted all the songs on the shaker that wouldn't play to MP3 files and they play now. Google "Media Coder" and download the free program, it is very easy to use. I had the songs converted in about 2 minutes. Make sure the shaker is plugged into computer so that you can choose the files on the shaker to convert. Hope this helps.
And when you run it, click the checkbox for "Format Data Area." When the message comes up saying you want to delete all the files, click "yes-" it's worth deleting all your songs if it works properly afterwards. You'll have to re-sync your songs and the downloads take forever, but it works.
With the SA4010, it is sensitive to downloading large amounts of information all at once. As painful as this might be, try downloading one song at a time.
If this is a problem that didn't exist before, try resetting the player once by re-inserting the battery. If single song downloads fail, and this is a new problem Repair the device (WARNING: this will delete all songs off your player): 1) Open up Philips Device Manager (Start --> All Programs --> Philips) - if you don't see it, then re-run the installation CD or grab the "Device/Firmware Manager" from the Philips website 2) Click on the Repair Tab, and look for a msg that says connect the player while holding the volume + button (on this model, you will actually use the play/pause button instead of the volume + button) 3) Disconnect the GoGear from the computer and turn the GoGear off (if you haven't done so already) - hold in the play/pausebutton and continue to hold it as you reconnect the GoGear to the computer; after holding the play/pause button for up to 20 or 30 seconds, a window will open up saying that your device is being repaired (now you can let go of the play/pause button); after the repair is successfully complete, your GoGear will be good as new.
it is comman problem , when u connect to pc , songs are played by song player of computer (like media player or real player) but latest version to play songs of the format is present in walkman is there, due to lac of cd's , i suggest you to please go to Sony' website and download latest software of said modle & update , it will solve the problem
