Pfaff Creative 1473CD - the presser foot will raise when using the presser bar lifter, but it will not lower and hold the fabric hard enough against the feeder dogs.

I have seen these machines with broken presser bar clamps (something inside the head). If it is just a bind then some oil on the presser bar may work, if the clamp is broken then it is probably not worth fixing.

The plate is not screwed in, it is held tight by a couple of metal springs on each side. Just take a small regular screw driver and gently pry up the face plate. You may have the presser foot lowered by the switch on the right side of the bobbin/shuttle area slide it so the presser feet raise.
