Question about Nintendo Wii Console

Wii Sport display

When playing the Wii Sport disc, the display is in black and white and we cannot get color. We have double checked all connections and they are as the directions indicate they should be. How do we get it to display in color?

I know you said you double-checked them, but this sounds like an issue with the video connections. If you're using the composite cable that comes with the system, try connecting to a different input on the TV and see if you have the same issue. I once had an issue like this when I accidentally swapped two of the cables when setting up my component cables.

..also make sure you haven't accidentally plugged the composite cables into COMPONENT inputs on your television. That will do what you are describing sometimes.

When playing DVD on panasonic plasma TV, the color is black and white

Consult the owner manual for the player (and or try it on another set) as many players have settings that can cause B&W or a single color display for the image.

Tv is not in color

If you are trying to play a DVD in the Wii thats the problem Wii doesn't play DVDs its not set up to that one of its many flaws. If you installed the Hack to make it play DVDs then again there is your flaw. If its a game you are playing and its blk/wht and all your wires are connected right you have a bad Wii.

Picture for Wii game is in black and white only.

What type of cables are you using? My presumption is that you're using Component Video Cables - Red, Green, Blue for video, Red & White for audio.

If one of the 3 video cables is mixed up or poorly connected, you could see a Black & White image on the screen. I suggest double checking your cables for tightness and correct color attachment. Also be sure the red video is not mixed with the red audio cable. The red audio cable is marginally thinner and probably physically attached to the white audio cable.

Hooked up cable box, wii box and dvd player to new lg 50 inch 720p plasma tv... all external components work, however, dvds and wii only show in black and white - no color...

Connect the Wii and the DVD player to different ports on the TV to and any other device to the port in which the Wii and the DVD player were connected to check if the issue is with the port.

If other devices also display in black and white after connecting them to the port to which the Wii and the DVD player were originally connected then the ports require servicing.
