I tried it didn't work. Not sure if it's because of the new year and some setting taking place? I'll try to make the restore at an earlier day than the 31st. Thank you!

You can use Restore Point for this matter:

  • Note: To perform System Restore, you must be logged on to Windows as an administrator. If this is your personal computer, you are likely already logged on with an administrator account.
To use System Restore to restore Windows XP to a previous state, follow these steps:
  • Log on to Windows as Administrator.
  • Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Restore. System Restore starts.
  • On the Welcome to System Restore page, click Restore my computer to an earlier time (if it is not already selected), and then click Next.
  • On the Select a Restore Point page, click the most recent system restore point in the On this list, click a restore point list, and then click Next.
Note: A System Restore message may appear that lists configuration changes that System Restore will make. Click OK.
  • On the Confirm Restore Point Selection page, click Next. System Restore restores the previous Windows XP configuration, and then restarts the computer.
  • Log on to the computer as Administrator. The System Restore Restoration Complete page is displayed.
    Click OK.
If you successfully restored your computer to a previous state, and the computer is performing as it should be, you are finished.
*If those steps doesn't work, reinstall the drivers.

My headfone ok i can listen other by headfone but my microfone driver not working i wanna update micro fone driver

Hi phool0055 ,

There is nothing as a separate microphone driver that you need to install generally ,
All you need to do is check microphone settings , as to whether they have been changed or the microphone has been muted accidentally.

Please follow the below steps :-

  • In control panel , open sound speech and audio devices
  • The click on the audio , tab where you would find two options , sound playback and sound recording.
  • Sound playback has to do with the sound that you hear , i.e. the headphone sound.
  • Sound microphone has to do with the sound that you record or transmit i.e. microphone.
  • Now you would have two options under sound recording sections, namely volume and advanced.
  • Open the volume and advanced section and check if it has been muted.
  • If it's muted , please unmute it and now you would be able to record your voice or chat using a microphone.
Hope this helps ..:)

Microphone suddenly stopped working

Try uninstalling and reinstalling your sound card driver. Also do the same for any software that has anything to do with your sound card. If this diesn't work, try restoring to a point before you had the problem. If you is usb and one is standard then it has to be soundcard or software, more then likely it's a driver issue.

Dell dimension4600. microphone does not work. I have a portable microphone connect to the pink mic connection.

it might be a bad mic or it may be your mic settings
its worth looking into, try connecting a audio source to it when you are configuring it and have the volume control for the microphone (on the playback section) so that you can hear it when it starts working
