Question about Jenn-Air Refrigerators
Refrigerator has not been cooling properly for several days, there's a warm spot on the side of the left door, lots of frost in the freezer section and no ice is being made . I can't find my manual abd see if I could trouble shoot the problem
Ill call this a defrost problem.hes right to advise to check the frezer compartment behind the panel there is a heater an a termanation thermostst.the thermo could be called a button ,its small round barrel like.you will need to do a continunity check while it is frozen and power off.temp of thermo must be below 20 degrees to test if it is closed /or has continuity then move to the heater.if not replace.it dose not matter if it is cold or not to test the heater.no power also. heater has two wires coming out of it you need at least one undone to check it for continuity.if both are good replace the defrost timer

You have a Heater Core Problem. Empty the Freezer and remove the Back Panel. Use a Hair Dryer to Defrost all the Coils. at the Bottom there is a Relay, Take that and get a New one.

Frost is a natural occurrence on the evaporator coils in the freezer compartment of your refrigerator. To prevent frost buildup, a self-defrosting refrigerator warms the coils using a defrost heater several times each day to melt away the frost. This frost melts into water and flows out of the compartment through the drain. If any part of the defrost system is not working properly, the result can be heavy frost buildup that may affect the cooling capacity of the refrigerator.
The defrost timer is a mechanism that tells the defroster how long to run to melt the frost. The limit switch measures the temperature in the freezer and helps to maintain it, while the heater is the key element that melts the frost. Any one of these components could need replacement at a given time, which will result in this over-frosting.
