When you put the disk in, in my pc, does it show up as running? There's more to this that can help with by going on line and asking for Just_Bobz

Resetting a Dell Inspiron to the factory settings allows the user to restore the Dell Inspiron to the original operating condition as if it was just taken out of the box. "Dell Media Direct" on Inspiron 1525

Make sure you do not have a bootable CD or DVD in the drive. If that does not resolve, then try holding the "home" (Media Direct) button while pressing the Power button on.

Install Xp from CDon a 1300 inspiron

A clean install? Just insert the CD and follow instrutions on screen. Make sure you have "boot from cd/dvd" selected in the BIOS. If not; if I'm not mistaken, you can push any key to boot from the cd. After the computer restarts to complete the install make sure you do not push any keys on restart . It will finish by it's self.Don't forget your product key. I also found 3 application and 47 driver updates for your Inspiron 1300/B130 on the Dell support page that you might be interested in. Be sure to install them in order. Good luck, I hope this helps. If I 'fixed ya' please rate me. I want the master bios password of labtop model inspiron 1300 Tag = 92ktd2j because i forgote the password

There are a lot of Windows password revealers and crackers available, but I’ve found that Windows Password Recovery Tool is the most effective.:
it not only supports XP, 2000, and NT, I have personally tested it with Vista Home Premium and Ultimate. It works perfectly to reset any local user account to a blank password
You can use the ISO to burn a boot CD. Follow these instructions:
1. Download ISO file from http://www.windowspasswordsrecovery.com Windows Password Recovery Tool
2. Burn to a CD using a CD burning tool such as Nero or Roxio or MagicISO
3. Insert CD into drive and reboot.
4. You may have to select an option in the BIOS to get the computer to boot from the CD.
Booting up and clearing a password takes a minute or two works like a charm.

Sounds like a Malware issue. I would suggest attempting to boot into Safe Mode.

Continously pressing F8 while the machine is booting from a completely powered down state will get you to a Boot Option menu.

Also, Are other profiles effected? Try them in safe-mode as well.

Dell dvd not working

First thing you need to check is whether the issue happens only if you are logged in to Windows or not. For you to check if it also happens outside of Windows, insert the Windows Operating System disk (XP or Vista) then shutdown the computer. Turn it back on. As soon as you see the Dell Logo, keep on pressing F12. Then select "CD/DVD ROM" from the choices and press enter. When you see the prompt "Press any key to boot from the CD", keep on tapping the "Enter" key. If your CD/DVD drive is working fine, you should see a page that'd say "Windows is loading files". If not then the system is not detecting your drive. Then check the BIOS page. F2 on the Dell Logo. Then look for Drive Configuration. If the drive isn't there, reseat it. Physically remove the drive from the computer and put it back in. Then restart.

Please rate this if it helped.
