Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
Happy New Years!
My new Sony PS3 (6 months old or so) has some sound issues that have only gotten worse. In the beginning games and movies would have regular periods of a second of silence during play. Recently, a few weeks ago, my PS3 has stopped all its sound. I haven't changed any of the configuration or hardware at all. The PS3 was originally connected to a speaker system via optical. To troubleshoot I tried using the HDMI to have sound directly from the TV speakers. This does not work either. Please advise on how to get my sound working again.
I have found this vid on youtube.
The vid isn't that explanatory but if you read the viewers comments there are a few remedy suggestions.
I hope this helps

a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Tips for a great answer:
ress and hold the power button until
the systems shuts off. (wait 2 seconds)
Press and hold the power button again
until you here 3 beeps. Let go.
It should ask you to connect your
controller via usb and press the PS button in
the middle of your controller. There
