Finding pilot light for a Kenmore dryer model # 97581110

Recently, my dryer stopped getting hot to dry our clothes. I am thinking that the pilot light went out, because the same day, there were very strong winds that could have come into our basement and blew out the pilot light (dryer is near basement door). On this particular dryer, there isn't a access door on any side of the dryer, except for a finger circumference sized hole on the front, below the dryer door on the left front of the dryer. Otherwise nothing. Any assistance in finding were to find and light the pilot light will be very helpful. - Brian

Very likely.
Here's why.
Because of the real danger of overheating and fire, dryers are "loaded" with overheat switches which will shut thr dryer off if they get hot.
One reason is that lint catches fire so easily.
Here's hoping you problem will resolve soon!

Dryer gets hot on the outside of machine

Clean the lint out of the pipe that goes out side, also the grate on the outside, If that dosent do it take the back off and see where the lint comes out, take that apart and clean the lint out. I have had this problem before and just recently. The dryer has a saftey fuse, when the dryer gets too hot to shut off, thats why your clothes are not drying. 1st try the pipe that goes outside including the end(outside).

I have a Kenmore 80 Series Gas Dryer. We replaced the motor and blower wheel in October of 2010. Recently the the dryer has been stopping while drying clothes. No matter what cycle I put it on, it almost...

Hi, In looking at your problem please do the following. Go behind the dryer. The vent hose that is attached to the back of the dryer has to go straight to the wall outlet. It must not have any bends whatsoever. Its a straight shot to the wall. This should take care of it shutting off and being too hot. You may need, after the above, to change out the cycling thermo. Thanks for your inquiry and hope this helps. Have a Good Day!

My kemore dryer model 11071812001 not drying clothes

Sounds like the problem is the solenoid coils on your gas valve. easy to replace and inexpensive + common. their are 2 coils on the valve that have 2 wires each going to them. Let me know if you have any other questions,

Kenmore Dryer

If this is a gas dryer, the rattling noise you hear is usually an indication of the gas valve coils failing on the burner assembly. Your dryer will normally have two of them. One is the main coil, and the other is a pilot position coil. It is recommended that you replace both of them at the same time (usually sold as a set). Searspartsdirect.com carries your parts. Just type in your model number and look under the "Burner Assembly" heading. For comparative shopping, repairclinic.com may also carry your parts. Sometimes at a cheaper price. If this is not a gas dryer, please post back with your model number, so I can assist you better. I hope this helps answer you questions.

Most common cause of this is a clogged venting going to the outside to test this remove the vent from the back of the dryer and run a load if it drys ok them you know you have a venting issue and will need to be cleaned out if not plz repost and we can look deeper into it
