Question about Dell XPS M1530 Notebook

1 Answer

Hi. My mouse occasionally is difficult for me to control. For awhile, it will work correctly-- just like with my old Dell. (Never had this problem) Other times, it gets difficult to control-- the pointer will range all over the screen and will not focus on the exact point where I want it. This is very frustrating.

Hi - many models of mice have different problems. Please provide the model and brand. One example is a certain Logitech mouse will jump around at inoportune times. Also, mechanical mice often simply need to be cleaned.

    Thanks

Normal 0 Turn the mouse over and find the small rest/connect button on the bottom of the mouse and press it to Reset/Connect the mouse to the receiver and work properly.
If not, try pressing the receiver button and then press the mouse. This should be done whenever you change batteries or glitch.
Hope this helps you. Bud

Why does my monitor start as white when I turn it on? THe mouse pad does not work as well.

Monitor cable disconnected internally?

follow http://www.insidemylaptop.com/replace-screen-on-dell-latitude-e5420-laptop/
and disconnect, clean and reconnect ALL monitor related cables. (You may need a new screen if that fails)

You may check your laptop by connecting an external monitor first.

Replace the mouse with a known good working one.
If you are not using a mouse (bad news) the touch pad may be failing.
In that case, an easy test and fix is to disable it in "Control Panel" then install a mouse in the USB Port.

If the problem is corrected then it is your touch pad.

Here is a link to the manual from Dell. FREE!

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins6000/en/om/D5181bk5.pdf

See Page 42 on disabling the Touch Pad.

Go to EBay and insert "6000 Dell Inspiron touch pad". It's cheap but difficult to replace.

I plugged in a logitec mouse into an old dell computer and it doesn't work. It works fine on the laptop, so I know the mouse is good.

Hi Good day!! Maybe your old Dell is not compatible with your logitech mouse that's why your old dell is not detecting your Logitech mouse.

You should go to http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&ServiceTag=&SystemID=INSPIRON1440&os=WLH&osl=en&catid=&impid=
download the drivers for your computer but if the problem still exist ,the touchpad may be bad and you will need to replace it.

My DEll mouse stops working when it feel like it. have to shut computer off and turn back on for mouse to light and work for awhile again. What"s wrong?wrong

Try your mouse in different USB ports, if it works well in the other ports then you know your original port is bad. If the mouse still acts up, then go ahead and try another usb mouse in the computer. If the 2nd mouse is working then you know the original mouse is bad. If the 2nd mouse is not working then you know that the usb ports on your motherboard are bad.

Hi Buzzy, I?ve had this problem with several C600 series laptops and the problem has always been fixed by reinstalling the drivers for the touchpad/joystick mouse controller.
