You should be able to plug the Atari directly into the TV (If you have proper inputs available on your TV (you have not told us what make & model your TV is). BUT you can hook it up through your DVD/VCR if you want to. If you hook your Atari to your DVD/VCR you will have to power up the DVD/VCR whenever you want to play your games. The cool thing about running it through your DVD/VCR is that you can record toy game to prove to your friends what you have achieved.
