Joed911, This IBM 8183 Intel 4 Desktop Computer is not shared by other computers. This computer has been connected to peoplepc online. Now I'm trying to Get att dsl fastaccess hooked up. While hooking this up I encounterd a problem and was transfered to the tech department. The reason I am unable to connect is because under device manager, there are no network adaptors icon available. Like no ethernet adaptor. What should I do. Even the tech which I paid 75.00 to doesn't even know>!!!???

What is the model number of the router/modem that you are trying to connect to. You need to install the driver for that.

Do you have the internet working on other computers? Or is this a new install on this PC?

Look in the control panel and check for the network adapter. You will probably find that it is exclamated or red X'd out. If so, you need to download the driver and reinstall it. You will find the driver on this IBM page:

Click on this link or copy and paste the complete link into your browser.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Cannot connect to the internet from my service provider, i have the data plan but the phone isn't connecting

ATT has good customer serice if you dial 611 from your phone, assuming you're in the USA. Other than that, go to an ATT company store, rather than an ATT reseller. Even better is to find the closest ATT Service Center and phyically walk in the door looking for help.

My 2 wire modem is acting has the ether net and the wireless constantly blinking, and the dsl and internet cannot seem to stay on green at all. I am having a troublesome time because I am trying to do my...

ATT is your high speed internet provider and they supply you with 2wire DSL modem which has alot of power supply adapter going bad (you can Google 2wire AC dapter problem).
You can buy your own DSL modem but the key is the setting it up, it depends on how your ATT DSL system is setup, DHCP, PPOe, etc. What ever you do I hope you do have the user name and password that you may need to setup the new modem.
To explain exactly how here will take many many words and pages to explain, and without knowing your exact setup, it will be real difficult.
ATT does not care if you use your own DSL modem but they will not help you setting it up.
I would suggest you to get someone at school that knows a lot about computer, may be aks your school IT person to see if he/she can help you for free pizza.
I hope my explanation will help you out.

I have ATT internet service using a USB device( no DSL or cable wires/lines, just plug in the USB into the port, that's it). I also have a wireless printer that is setup with a DLink router. When I print...

In order for you to print on that particular printer, your computer and the printer need to be on the same network. That is the only way it will work. So, either connect your computer to that Dlink router or connect your printer directly to your computer and browse internet from USB ATT.

Hope this helps.

Can't connect my wrt56gs to my westell 6100 modem, could you please help?

Hi,
You are using westell modem that means your internet service provider must be DSL.You will need to make sure that your computer is able to go online when connected to the modem. that will decide the type of ISP connection.

4 then click on the icon network connections

5 there you will find "create new connection"  or "new connection wizard"on the left hand side just   double click on it

6 a new dialog ll appear click next

7 on the next screen select "connect to internet" and click on next

8 on the next screen click on "setup my connection manually" then click on next

9 on the next screen select the option "connect using a user name and password" and click next

10 you will be asked for ISP name "for eg:fill in AT&T"

11 on the next screen you willlbe asked for user name and password , fill in the respective details

for eg: sam @att.net :username
            ******** :password

12 den click finish

you will find an icon in the desk top by now. just double click on that icon and try browsinn
