See this causes and fix it. God bless you
Turntable Motor If the microwave is loud or noisy the turntable motor might be worn out. This is a common problem and relatively easy to replace.
Stirrer Motor If the microwave is loud or noisy the stirrer motor might be worn out. The stirrer is a metal blade which slowly turns around, deflecting the microwave energy in a random pattern inside the microwave oven. As the motor nears the end of its useful life it begins to make grinding noises. The microwave will not heat food evenly without this stirrer, the motor should be replaced.

Exhaust Fan Motor If the microwave is loud when running the fan motor might be

Magnetron If the microwave is loud or noisy only when cooking, the magnetron tube might be defective. The magnetron uses high voltage, high current DC power to generate the microwave frequency that cooks the food. Under normal circumstances the magnetron is nearly silent. However if it is damaged or nearly burned out it can begin emitting high pitched or growling noises. It's not normally dangerous to use a microwave oven when it makes these noises, but they are an indication that the magnetron is almost dead and will need to be replaced.

It sounds like your magnetron has failed.

I would put a cup or so of water in it and heat it for about 3 minutes.

Then check inside and see if you smell any electrical burning or other smell.

You should have a 5-year warranty on the magnetron.

E13 is usually a bad door switch or door switch mount.

The first step is to unplug it from the power outlet for one minute, then plug it back in and try it again.

If it still fails to heat, I would check the door switches and door switch mounts.

NOTE: There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting.

I'm confused. If it's 6 weeks old, you can get it repaired free.

If it's 1-1/2 years old, the manufacturer will cover the part cost of the magnetron (assuming that's what's wrong) and you will have to pay for labor and any other needed parts.

Also, the subject line mentions a model LMV1630ST while your message body mentions model LMV1680BB.

For Goldstar / LG / customer service, help, call 1-800-243-0000 (M-F, 7am-8pm CT, Sat 8-5 CT) and choose the appropriate prompt from the menu or visit here.

Chances are your problem is a bad magnetron, but it may be another high voltage part.

SOURCE: Everything on oven appears to work, but does not heat.

from what your describing it sounds as if you have burnt the antenna off of the end of the magtube if this is the case if your microwave is no longer under warranty due to the cost of the part you may be better off to purchase a new microwave.

Kitchen Aid microwave KHMS105EWH-0: I started to heat a cup of coffee, it momentarily interrupted power to the kitchen, fluorescent lamps went out, then slowly came back on. More below.

Because of the loud snap you are hearing, my guess is you have something shorting out in the high voltage section of the microwave. I'm surprised it is not blowing the internal microwave fuse yet. Average repair cost depending of what part it going bad is approximately $150 to $200. Considering the age of your micro my suggestion is put the money towards a new one.

I have a microwave that is shooting fire inside. Where can I send this. It is definitely a bad item.

You're probably using something metallic or reflective, like aluminium foil to "substitute" for the missing glass turntable. Place the bacon on a microwave-safe dinner plate, and you should be OK.

Burning smell and loud grinding noise

If that grinding noise sounds a little like gargling into a coffee cup, that's a defective magnetron.
