Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3

Razor problems Hy I dropped my Razor V3 in salt water couple days ago. I dry it and I opened in order to clean it. Everything went well and when I finished it starts and seems that has no problems except that I can't use the voice record key. I press and hold but nothing happens. I am thinking, maybe because I lost the small battery that was located near the speaker in upper side ?? Could this be the problem ? Anyway does anybody knows what kind of battery is that and where I can purchase one ? The rest is OK. I am still wondering how is still working after so much water )!! Thanks

Re: Razor problems

That little battery shouldn't be the problem. Reopen it and look at the point that is push it by the key. It should have a little square silver housing and a tiny black piece that actually works the whole thing. Make sure that it is still there and lined up correctly. The easier way to tell is if it makes a tiny click sound like the rest of the keys. Let me know if you need anymore help.

Motorola V3 pins 1,2,3 shorted out...

If the phone was on when it was dropped in the water it probably will never work because the circuits inside will have been compromised. If the phone was off, remove the battery and it can be put in an oven set to 'warm' and left for several hours. This dries out the circuits an sometimes lets the phone work. Usually the phone gets damaged when it is dropped in water.

My nokia e51 dropped in sea salt water ten days ago, I dried it and opened its cover under the keyboard and cleaned it , it worked very well for a whole week, the problem is now the battery is not...

The sea salt water has made the charging port corrode. So get a screw driver, open the phone and bring out the charging port. The charging port is where you put our charger. Use methylated spirit to brush the charging port and the panel where the charging port is place.

Dry it for 30 minutes and couple the phone and it will start working fine.

I got it wet!!

The first thing is to know if the phone dropped in salted or fresh water. If was in salted water, forget it, you let it pass so much time, but if was fresh water, try to open the phone ( get a Torx 6 or 8 screwdriver in home depot) and use pure alcohol with and old toothbrush and clean the mineral deposited on the circuits, gentle brush it and let it dry, then reasemble the phone a it will work perfect

Motorola RAZR V3 Cellular Phone Charges, then turns self off

when you dried it off you did not open it up and have the phone service so you should take it to a repair store and have it fully service or the firmware reflash but you may have to purchase a new one

Phone fell in water

Most likely something got corroded inside of the motherboard, shorting out a component or two. Your only solution will be to open it up and clean it with a soft toothbrush or something similar. If that doesn't work, I guess you'd have to replace specific components on the board and that's no easy task...

My phone in salt water.

To anyone who drops their phone in salt water. Get the battery out immediately. When you get home or sooner if you can put the phone in something that will allow fresh water to immerse it entirely. Keep water running in the container for about 3 days continually flushing the phone. Now take all of the water out and fill the container with 99% Isopropyl Alcohol. Let the phone dry out for at least 2-weeks before trying a fully charged battery in it and turn it on. Should work and you have just saved yourself buying a new one. Then don't leave it in your pocket when you go to the beach, drop it in a Ferry Salt Water Toilet, etc., where it it is immersed in salt water. If it is most cell phone providers will refuse to even look at it from their tech depts. A Radio Tech/Inspector in Canada.

V3 got wet

sorry to say this but a wet phone is ruined. You will have to take it to a tech at your phone server. They will either repair it or you will have to get another one. Water and phones do not go together at all. Sux.
