Question about Apple iPod touch

Touch needs to be reset- not recognized in itunes

I can see the itouch in in USB list but it is not recognized in itunes (error 0XE8000035). When I connect the itunes to the computer, I do not get the connect image so I cannot reset the itouch. I can turn the itouch on, I can access the internet, but I cannot use the home key to get back to the main screen. Can you help please? I haven't tried to jailbreak the unit, I just reset it so that my son can use it again and now I have the problems above My I-touch is showing the i-tunes icon and the connector icon - I cannot get off this screen. This screen is on whether the i-touch is plugged into a usb port or not. When I try and download a higher version of i-tunes (8) my system won't allow me to and therefore cannot sync to the i-touch. Basically a frozen screen. Thanks to anyone who could help.

although it is for an iphone the itouch is the same. Let me know if any of this will help ? I will help you get it working if it is not an internal problem, I had to replace the plastic female part of the plug in my wifes phone because of this. it was broken and it would keep making a bed connection.

Did you read the link I sent you? If that doesn't work and you know you have followed the instruction on booting into DFU mode you most probably have a bad connection at your cable, be it the phone part or the cable, I had to replace the outer part on my wifes phone to fix it. They are repairable and you can get parts on line, tey come with instructions and videos on how to do it. I will try and find the site.

Do i have to have internet so my computer can read my ipod touch

No, all you need is the USB cable that comes along when you bought your iPod touch and also, you must have iTunes installed in your computer. And if you have passcode lock turned on, make sure to unlock your device first so iTunes can recognize it.

Tip

Fix Disabled ITouch that ITunes will not recognize

If your itouch reads "disabled connect to itunes" and shows the "locked" icon and your itunes will not even recognize the device and itunes says your itouch is locked and enter password, Here is what you do to restore your itouch: (you will lose all itouch contents but it is worth it as almost all say it is broken and worthless)
1. Turn off your itouch or ipod. Do not have charger / usb connected to ipod or itouch.
2. With device off, connect the charger end of the cable to the itouch / ipod but do not plug the usb into the computer.
3. Open Itunes
3. While holding down the menu button (and I mean keep holding it down), plug the usb into the computer.
4. Wait to see the new wonderful graphic on your device and computer screen that shows that your ipod / itouch is recognized.
Your itouch will start immediately restoring itself and you are ready to fill it up with wonderful images, photos and videos again!
So happy to share this tip. It saved me money and time.

Error (13) in itouch keeps showing when restoring, HELP!!!! how can i fix my itouch out of this freezed screen displaying a cd and usb port.....PLEASE!!!

From Apple Website 1. Restart your computer (yes, you have too)
2. plug in your ipod touch (it should have the usb cord and itunes picture on the screen)
3. open itunes.
4. itunes will recognize the ipod. just ignore the message, and then hold down the home and hold button (on the top) for about 10 seconds, and after you count to 10, release the top hold button, but still holding home.
5. itunes will pick up the ipod, and once it does, release home.
6. Now click restore, and everything should work fine.
(if problem persists, try turning off firewall, and close all other programs)

After i turned my itouch on & off the itunes logo & usb cord logo is there what do i do now?

What you need to do is connect it to iTunes. iTunes will recognize its fault, and ask you to download a recovery kit. Then it should install it again. All data will be gone, and the device reset. If this does not work, there is no hope. Send it in, and they'll be a firmware overhaul. It should cost about $30 with warranty (Shipping & Handling).

My itouch says connect to itunes but it wont let me

You will want to reset the ipod and reconnect it to your computer. Below I have posted step by steps on three trouble shooting options. If after a reset it still will not connect to the computer, proceed to step two. Putting the iPod into recovery mode. Then if in recovery mode you can get it to connect to the computer, restore it to factory settings. Restoring it is listed as step three. I left the restore article normal in case you can get it to connect with just a simple reset.

1st reset

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

2nd RECOVERY MODE
Connect your USB cable to the computer without the iPod connected at the other end.

Power off the device (Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the the iPhone or iPod touch to turn off.

Press and hold the Home button while reconnecting the USB cable to iPhone. When you reconnect the USB to iPhone, the device should then power on.
Continue holding the Home button while iPod starts up. While starting up, you will see the Apple logo. When you see "Connect to iTunes" on the screen, you can release the Home button and iTunes will display the recovery mode message: iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes.

If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, then disconnect the USB cable from iPod and repeat steps 3-6.
Because you must restore the iPod touch, iTunes will not recover data from the device, but if it was previously synced on the same computer and the same user account, it should restore a backup (if available)

RESTORE Use the following steps to restore your iPod touch:
Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed and running before attempting to update. Connect your iPod touch to your computer. Select your iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices. Select the Summary tab. Select the Restore option. When prompted to back up your iPod touch's settings before restoring, select the Back Up option. If have just backed up the device, it is not necessary to create another.
Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you
Once the restore process has completed the iPod touch restarts and displays the Apple logo while starting up

If none of this works and your iPod is still under a year old I would call apple. Make sure that you inform them of the trouble shooting you have already done though. They can tend to assume people don't do trouble shooting. GOOD LUCK

My computer doesn't recognize my itouch

Try a hard reset of your device:

To reset the iPhone or iPod Touch, press and hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button simultaneously at the same time for at least ten seconds, then the LCD display will clear and the Apple logo appears on the black background. When Apple logo appears, reset is done.

ITouch stuck and unrecognizable

Sounds like a long shot but it's the only solution I've been able to track down for the oxe8000035 error - try a different iPod USB cable.

Otherwise, it's a trip to the Apple store.

Good luck.
