How did you delete the Photos? from within iPhoto or otherwise?
Have you had any other problems besides iPhoto?

I think you might need to reinstall iPhoto (  You should back up your computer, including any photos, before doing this.

ICloud - A large and Unique Data Centre

Apple finally announces its worlds big and large data center named iCloud. iCloud is much more than just pile of hard drives in the Clouds. It provides the secure way to access the data using the iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, Mac,or PC. It also provides email, contacts, and calendars up to date on all the apple devices. In iCloud no synchronizing and management is required. Using iCloud users able to download application, songs, documents and other media, and sync media between these devices without the use of a single USB cord. All apps, music, camera photos will be backedup on an hourly basis, which means users don't have to worry about backing upthe data themselves. When a user downloads an application from the Apple Store on to an iOS device, it will always beon Apple's server to download again, even if the user loses or damages iOS device or Mac.If the internal hard drive of Mac permanently crashes, then user can re-download to the devices all the apps purchased in the store with onlyone single license using his Apple ID. iCloud automatically downloads the new music purchase to all your devicesover Wi-Fi or 3G. We can download the music purchased earlier on all the Apple devices. When we purchased the music from iTunes, iCloud manages the purchased information. We can access your purchased information from the iTunes Store on our Mac, PC, iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. As you already own the music, you can tap to download your songs or albums to any of your devices. Using iCloud, when we shoot photo on one device, it automatically appears onall your other Apple devices. No sync, sending and photos are available where we want them. iCloud automatically sends the photos over any available Wi-Fi network (or Ethernet) to the Photos app on the iOS devices, iPhoto on your Mac, the Pictures Library on your PC, and the Photo Stream album on your Apple TV. From iCloud you can download the many applications,iBooks. Once you purchased any application or iBooks from the Apple store you can able to download again with no additional cost , the same items as they get deleted or lost from any apple devices. iCloud also stores the documents, presentation, and the spreadsheets we made and keep them in latest state sothat we can edit and view in all the Apple devices. iCloud stores all email, calendars, and contacts and automatically pushes them to all Apple devices. So we can switch from one device to another .

I'm also having a problem transferring my pictures to my Mac via the USB connector. Where do I get a card reader (is this a stupid question...)? Thx.

Not a stupid question at all.

Have you tried starting iPhoto before connecting your camera to your Mac with the USB cable?

That might help with getting the photos off of your camera.

If that doesn't work, try downloading and installing Picasa for Mac. Usually Picasa is very good at detecting and supporting many different types of cameras.

Quarkxpress 8 quits during launch. Macbook pro OS X 10.5.6

It could be that your quark preferences have corrupted, I would go to your users folder then go into the library folder, then the preferences folder and then the quark folder within the quark folder there should be a file called "XPress Preferences.prf" move this to the trash (But do not delete it yet). When you open quark next it will recreate the preference file and hopefully that will sort it out.

My iphoto has gone beserk. The little colored pinwheel goes round and round and I can do anything at all. I eventually have to forse quit or shut down to get out.

Take out the out of the preferences folder and put it in the trash once iPhoto restarts the file will be recerated. You can find the file here

Macintosh HD/ Users/(your user name)/ Library/ Preferences/

Once you have taken out the file before starting iPhoto go to software update under the apple menu to ensure your machine is up to date. Hope this helps.

I recently downloaded the trial version of Aperture 2. onto my Imac, worked fine for a week or so until i noticed a problem where it wouldnt import photos from my camera, which it did fine previously on...

I would delete Apeture from the machine and do a clean install of the application. Do not know if there is an unistall on the installer disk but to get rid of apeture manually try dragging the application to the trash.

Then delete the following folders and files ...

~\Library\Application Support\Aperture
\Library\Application Support\ProApps\Aperture System ID

Hope this helps

I have apple works 6.0 on my older iMac. Is there

No, Its a copyright (r) cd. Which obviously means you can't copy it. And if you did it would be illegal. Im not accusing you or anything, I'm just giving my solution.
Sorry for an inconvenience...

Smead Viewables for Macs?

I can run v3 of the viewables software using Win XP under parallels on my MacBook without any problem. v3 only supports a limited set of colors. Since I cannot download the current v4, I cannot test it. If someone of you can provide me with the v4 installer, I'll test this version too.
